From the Pastor’s Desk

My dear parishioners, This Sunday of the solemnity of Christ the King marks the end of the Ordinary Time. Next Sun-day, we begin the season of Ad-vent as an immediate prepara-

tion for Christmas. Christ is indeed our King, the one who reigns in our hearts. He calls us to pledge our loyalty to him above everything else, so that he may rule our lives on earth, un-til we come to share in the glory of his heaven-ly Kingdom. The Gospel presents us with Christ sitting on the throne of his glory and inviting people to be part of his heavenly and glorious King-dom. The only condition he puts forth is chari-ty, which is to be attentive to the needs of our brothers and sisters. We need to take care of those who are the most in need, because Christ identifies himself with the poor among us. He says it so clearly in the Gospel, “Amen, I say to you, whatever you did for one of the least brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.” As we approach the holiday season, we should be mindful of our brothers and sisters who go without and are in need of food, cloth-ing, visit, phone call, card, etc. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all those who have donated to the food pantry, especially for Thanksgiving. May God repay you a hundred-fold. Despite the challenging time that we are going through, we ask for the grace to always be charitable and generous. Happy and safe Thanksgiving to all!
