Fr. Louis’s Reflection
There is a story in OT Nehemiah how the reading from the scripture brought about the conversion of an entire community, “Ezra the priest brought the Law before the assembly,…Ezra read the book before all of them from early morning until midday in the square facing the Water Gate; and all who heard were attentive to the book of the Law…” They wept. They knew they had not been faithful. Nehemiah and Ezra said to them “This day is dedicated to the Lord, your God, so do not mourn or weep.” They said this “because all wept when they heard the words of the Law” (Neh 8:2-10). They knew they had not been faithful. Ne-hemiah reassured them they would receive strength from the Lord. He said, “The joy of the Lord is your strength.” Neh 8:10. With increased secularization of society, it is time to understand the need for the Word of God to overtake our lives. During this unprecedented time of pandemic, it is quite possible some to be on the way to Damascus, others on the way to Emmaus and many others still in Jerusalem. But wherever we are in our journey the Word of God has the power to catch up with us when we least expect it. It may happen reading or listening to the Mass Readings of the day or listening to the Catholic Radio etc. It may happen through each one of us too. Our kind help and intervention may en-able someone to hear God’s Word and ex-perience his love. God’s Word can come to us at a moment of helplessness through a
person who is not necessarily a carrier of God’s Word, but offers the needed assis-tance and sets us thinking. Yes, the Word of God is so powerful that it can overtake us when we least expect it only if we are attentive and open to receive it humbly. The Lord said through prophet Isaiah 65:1: “I was ready for them to find me, but they did not even try.” The bearer of the Good News never fails to find joy in bringing people a little closer to God. And so, we can all motivate each oth-er to read, listen, meditate on the life-giving Word of God and take time to pray because we know that God is ready to answer our prayers (Is 65:1). How wonderful it would be if we can all open the door of our hearts to him at the Holy Mass and prayer, for we know that the Lord stands at the gate and knocks. The psalmist beautifully said, “I was ready to answer my people’s prayers, but they did not pray” Ps. 77:19. Let us spend at least a few minutes daily reading the Word of God, in examination of conscience with help of the Ten Commandments, praying the Rosary, the Divine Mercy Chaplet, going to confession and receiving Jesus in the Most Holy Eucharist.
“The joy of the Lord is my strength” (Neh 8:10).

Becoming our Best Selves One Step at a Time
I was about twelve before I got the use of a bike, thanks to my sister getting married and leaving her bike be-hind. Now the trick was to learn how to ride it. One day I walked it out to the curb in front of our house, and climbed aboard. But, being kind of a klutz, I fell off be-fore I ever got my foot all the way to the pedal. I tried again, and again, and again, and … Donny (Not his real name) had been watching me, ap-parently. Donny was in his forties chronologically, and about seven mentally. He was the street sweeper in town, employed to walk the city streets with a wheel barrow, a huge broom, and a big dust pan, sweeping the gutters, even though the city had the big motorized sweepers. He walked up to me, said, “I’ll push you a ways till you get the hang of it.” I said, “OK,” and mounted up. Donny started pushing and I was off, assuming Donny was still pushing me. In about half a block I turned my head and saw Donny standing back where I came from with a huge grin on his face. As I turned back I didn’t know whether I should be upset that Donny had tricked me or if I should hug him. I took the middle ground and thanked him approximately 6,381 times. I guess you just never know who your angel-of-the-day is going to be. Donny died a tragic death. I get misty-eyed every time I think of him. But he’s in Heaven, I betcha! It’s the little stuff that makes a saint.

OUR SEMINARIANS NEED YOUR HELP
A spiritual family needs spiritual fathers. That is why the 15th Annual Seminarian Collection: Hope for the Future, Help them Today is so important. By now you most likely received a letter from Bish-op Ricken requesting your help in supporting our local seminarians. Please return your generous contribution to this collection, using the pledge card and return envelope you receiving in the mail. A gift of $15, $150, $515 or more will help our seminarians move forward in their work of be-coming missionary disciples. Every gift makes a difference. Our seminarians are our Hope for the Future, Let us Help them Today! As a Diocese, we anticipate costs of $1,000,000 this year for tui-tion, room and board, health insurance, support of the Office of Vocations and the work of Fr. Mark Mleziva and Fr. Adam Bradley. Friends and follow-ers of Jesus support one another!
In order to make your gift today, visit www.catholicfoundationgb.org/give
Sacred Heart Church is open Monday & Friday from 8 am until 2:30 pm and Tuesday thru Thurs-day from 8 am to 4 pm for personal and private prayer. We ask that you wear as mask, as stated in Governor Ever’s order and allow for safe social distancing as recommended by State Officials.

PRAYER FOR THE SICK God of mercy, when I’m sick I often find it hard to pray. So I offer this moment of prayer when I’m well for all those who may now be too weak, too tired or too depressed to pray and to believe at this time in your goodness and mercy. May this be a healing moment for them, as it was for the wom-an in the Gospel who touched the hem of your gar-ment.
~Amen

ST. JUDE THE APOSTLE PARISH PRAYER NETWORK
We believe that prayer is very powerful. We believe that when we ask in the name of Jesus Christ, the Father always an-swers. The answer may not be the one we think we want, but through God’s infinite wisdom the answer is provided in ways that respect the gift of freewill that God bestowed on humankind from the beginning. We believe in accordance with the teaching of our Savior, Jesus Christ, that the prayers and actions of the Christian Community are stronger than those of an indi-vidual. With this in mind, we at St. Jude have joined together to form a prayer network. Anyone can call the group leaders or other prayer net-work members with a prayer request. The prayer request is phoned to other members using a chain whereby no one member need call more than two people. Prayer requests can be for many reasons including: health issues, employment concerns, relief from family and social stresses, bereavement concerns and thanks for God’s blessings. The options for prayer are bound-less. If you would like to join the prayer network or if you have a prayer request call Paulette or Jim at 920-688-3237 or the parish office, 235-7412.

Reminders for Weekend Mass As we continue to gather together in community it is extremely important to keep not only your own safety, but also the safety of others mind. · Please enter either church through the handi-
capped accessible entrances or the main double doors.
· Upon arrival to the church your temperature will be
checked to ensure you do not have a temperature of 100.4 degrees or higher.
· Use hand sanitizer upon entering and leaving the
building. Keep those hands clean! · Worship Aids are new at every mass. The Diocese
of Green Bay approved our use of them as long as they are one time use.
· We are continuing to use the collection baskets
with long handles. There are some parishes that do not have this option and instead are using boxes at the entrance. It is preferred to have the offertory collection during the Mass instead of after.
MARIAN PRAYER Each Tuesday night we have Rosary and Holy Hour. Come and pray the rosary with us or come and adore Christ in prayer. Our world is in need of our prayers for peace.
