That, rejecting the culture of indifference, we may care for our neighbors who suffer, especially the sick and the poor. That Mary's intercession may help Christians in secularized cultures be ready to proclaim Jesus.

90 Week Challenge – Week 10 by Sarah Christmyer Bible Time Period: Patriarchs In the time of the Patriarchs, you called Abraham and promised his children to be a royal kingdom, and worldwide blessing: Help me to trust in your promises today.

Reflection: The remainder of Genesis is taken up with the story of Jacob’s son Joseph - not his firstborn son, but his first son with his favorite wife, Rachel. This is wonderful storytelling, easy to read and imagine, full of truths about God and the way he relates to his children. The readings today cover Joseph’s early years and imprisonment in Egypt. This week’s Reading Genesis 37-40 This week’s Question The flow of the story is interrupted in Chapter 38 with an incident involving Joseph’s older brother Judah. Both men will play key roles in the history of Israel, so it is worth taking note: What is Judah like? How is he different from Joseph? Taken from The Great Adventure Bible Study 90-Day

a lasting and attractive way. Stay tuned.

Connector Report The connector between the new hall and Fr. Mealey Hall still needs approval from the State Sprinkler Board. The Town recently gave us documents so that we can have a hearing within a month. Pray. May God give success to the work of our hands. Bazaar Report

I am so happy that Donna Miller is now working with the Daughters of Isabella to make this year’s Bazaar the best ever! Do you know anyone who would like to donate raffle prizes? That would be a big help. We are going to need the Scouts and the Knights to redouble their efforts in moving things in and taking things down so please put September 12th on the calendar. We are looking for people to give to the Farmers’ Market booth at the Bazaar. We will do the Blessing of the Motorcycles at the Bazaar. I am looking forward to possibly having the Knights help with a post bazaar cookout after our outdoor Mass. It would be held around the rectory property which means we can have a little beer and maybe even a splash of wine. I can't emphasize enough how we are going to need all the help we can get from young people moving things around; tables, chairs and so forth. We will have the Mass outside (weather permitting) and we are joyful that this great day will proclaim to the world our love, in Christ, for each other and the community at large. p.s. The garage is open for Grandma's Attic! Memorial Day

We are having a special Mass connected with the Town Memorial Day Parade. It should be a wonderful time of praying for our Soldiers who have laid down their lives for us, their friends.

Seminarian We have been assigned a seminarian again. His name is Michael Rora. You can look him up and say hello. He is a sports guy and youth groups tend to like him. I can't wait to see how the goodness of you all helps forms his priestly vocation.

Want to become Catholic? If you want to know more let me know. We have a wonderful team of people who have successfully helped many over the years. This is not a cult. There is no pressure. If you want to come and see and just talk more don't worry. Take your time. Don't be afraid to take a look.

Cover Art Our First Communion children received their First Holy Communion last Sunday, May 3rd. It was a beautiful Mass. Enjoy these pictures and rejoice and be glad. Enjoy the pictures on page 6 of Mrs. Oittinen and Mr. Joy (older and younger) as well as the Murphy Family. They all help with youth work and we thank them for all they do. Mrs. Kris Vaz helped to get them these awards and we had a great time at the banquet. Sunday Reading Reflection

So many things blossom in the Easter Season. The fact that the Church grew and became the first truly international institution is chronicled in the readings. Also the Holy Spirit who sets us free to know what to do to praise God at all times is sent at this time of Easter. The blossoms of new converts and the Holy Spirit filling our hearts making us joyful are present now as well right here in Townsend. Here ends "The Pastor's Desk”

Upcoming Youth Group Events May Procession will be today, May 10th after the 10:30 a.m. Mass. The next Youth Ministry Meeting is June 7th from 11:30 a.m.- 12:30 p.m. in Father Mealey Hall. There will be a Baptism Celebration on June 28th after the 10:30 a.m. Mass. World Youth Day Car Wash Fundraiser June 27, 2015 at 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in front of the Rectory
