“So the last will be first and the first last.” (Matthew 20:16)
You’ve heard the saying “It’s not where you start, but how you finish.” This certainly applies to this Bible passage. We have a responsibility not only for our own
lives, but for the lives of others as well. We are called to generously share our gifts with others, not hoard them for our own use. Our sincere gratitude and cheerful generosity will help us live “God-centered” lives and not “self-centered” lives.

Feast of Our Lady of Mercy and National Day of Prayer & Fasting
Inspired by the need for societal healing and personal conversion of hearts ACTS XXIX, spearheaded by Fr. John Riccardo of the Archdiocese of Detroit and Bishop Brennan is calling for a National Day of Prayer and Fasting on Thursday, September 24, 2020.
This idea springs in part from the fact that President Lincoln on three occasions called the entire nation to fast and pray for God's Mercy on our land. It seems to be a propitious opportunity to call all people of good will to "ask God for what only God can do."

Do you desire to grow in your Catholic faith? Would you like to connect with other women in our parish community? Are you searching for something more in your life? We invite you to consider joining Walking With Purpose, a women’s Catholic Bible study, this Fall. Weekly group sessions are starting on Wednesday,
September 30 at 7:00 pm, at the Parish Activity Center.
Opening Your Heart, our foundational study, is designed for a woman new to WWP with or without any Bible study experience; come as you are to learn how the Scriptures apply to our everyday lives.
Our second study, Touching the Divine, focuses on the qualities of Jesus revealed through the gospel of John and draws us into a deeper relationship with Christ as we reflect upon His personality and unconditional love for us.
The mission of Walking With Purpose is to help every Catholic woman in America to open her heart to Jesus Christ. Interested in learning more? Please stop by after Mass to find out what Walking with Purpose is all about. In-person and on-line options will be offered. Contact either Lisa Grywalski at [email protected] 614-352-3388 or Denise Brickner at [email protected] 614-202-0013. Program cost is $20. We hope to see many of the women of St. Joseph soon.
