“ keep Pouring your anointing

on this place ”

For those of you who don’t know we often share with others in our travels and services that St. Paul is Holy Ghost headquarters for East Texas. I am so amazed on how God’s Spirit is moving here at St. Paul. I know His Spirit is everywhere; however it is just so awesome to see how He has allowed what seems to be an extra anointing upon our church and membership. If you ever attend one of our services or bible studies then you know exactly what I am talking about. God is truly in this place and growing in His people daily and I am grateful that He has allowed me the privilege of being a part of His wonderful worship experience and service.

One true mark that a church is growing spiritually is how effective they are for Christ in the community and surrounding areas. We have a whole plethora of members sharing the gospel throughout the city and areas abroad extending God’s kingdom to all those with hurts, hang-ups, and habits, encouraging them to

receive a saving relationship with Christ. Many members are now involved in city civic groups and organizations having an effective witness for Christ throughout the community and county. How good it is to see such an outpouring of His Spirit everywhere we go.

God is truly in this place. As we continue to trust Him and operate in obedience to His word, then I know without a shadow of doubt that He will continue to pour His Spirit upon this place and people. If you are not operating in obedient faith to His word then please do so. If you are, then please continue to seek to fulfill His will for your life. I promise you will experience a deeper relationship with Him as well as an outpouring of His Spirit upon your life. “God we thank you for all that you have done and are doing and as always we glorify and thank you for your pres-ence.” Amen, and Come see for yourself!

“Pastor’s Quick Quote” “Don’t waste your time looking back, life is not meant to be

lived backwards:”

“forgetting those things behind, I press toward the mark for the prize”

Philippians 3:12-14

“When Misery Meets the Master”

From Mark 14:3, it states, “And being in Bethany (a place of misery) in the house of Simon the leper, as he sat at meat, there came a woman (a sinner) having an alabas-ter box of ointment of spikenard very pre-cious; and she broke the box, and poured it on his head.”

A woman knew it was time for a change of major significance to take place in her pre-

sent and sinful life. Her extreme unhappiness led her with all she had and preciously expensive, weeping into a leper’s house to the Master’s feet; the only one that could forgive and save her from all her sins.

Where would you rather be? Surely, it is at the Master’s feet; the place of all authority.

Luke 7:38 continues with, “And stood at his feet behind him weeping and began to wash his feet with tears, and did wipe them with the hairs of her head, and kissed his feet, and anointed them with the ointment.”

A different misery had plenty negatives to say about this woman within himself; questioning the authority of Jesus. Then, Jesus hearing miserable Simon answered him saying, “Simon, I have somewhat to say unto thee.”

“Master, say on.” Simon says.

He proceeds to tell Simon about a certain creditor which had two debtors who owed him; one more than the other, and forgave them both when they had nothing to pay. The question was therefore, which of them will love him most? The answer? He to whom he forgave the most. Rightly so.

The joy comes in knowing what Jesus says next. All that the woman had done since entering Simon’s house, Simon had not offered to do unto the Master.

In verse 47, my favorite, he says, “Wherefore I say unto thee, Her sins, which are many, are forgiven; for she loved much: but to whom lit-tle is forgiven, the same loveth little.”

“And he said unto her, Thy sins are forgiven.”

More questions from them that sat at meat with him…Who is this that forgives sins also?

“And he said unto the woman, Thy faith hath saved thee; go in peace.”

This time, the conversation is finished. It is done!

Hearing this, there is deliverance and peace in His Words. No other words have brought me as much joy for myself and for those that need to hear that assurance as I minister to women daily.

Go in peace and know that The Word if ever with you.

God’s richest blessings be upon the readers and doers of The Word.

From the Heart of The 1st Lady!

Brother Edward Dickey is one of our

eldest senior members that have been a fixture of St. Paul for quite some time. He is consistent in service as well as in character. He is never short of an opinion and knows how to monitor his ministry well. He has been our finance ministry chairman for years and as a pastor I rely on his wisdom greatly. Since I have known him he has grown tremendously in faith. Even at this season of life he has come to know God with a deeper understanding. He attends church, bible study, and brotherhood faithfully. He always has an encouraging words or wisdom for the younger brothers to seek God while you are young. Often he shares with them that the teaching that is go-ing forth now could take you a long way if you apply it.

Brother Dickey is the type of person you can count on. He is also a trustee and like all of our ministry leaders they have assignments and he is a person that will see whatever needs to be done to the end. We love Brother Dickey and are proud to have him as member of the month. As well as in favor.

Forgiveness & Renewal

Whenever you stand praying, if

you have anything against anyone,

forgive him, so that your Father in

heaven will also forgive you your

wrongdoing. Mark 11:25 HCSB

Bitterness saps our energy; genu-

ine forgiveness renews the spirit.

If you're feeling tired, discouraged,

or worse, could it be that you need to ask God to help

you forgive others (just as He has already forgiven you)?

God wants His children to lead joyous lives filled with

abundance and peace. But sometimes abundance and

peace seem far removed from us. It's in these dark mo-

ments that we should turn to God for renewal; when we

do, He will restore us, but we must be willing to forgive

those who have wronged us.

Are you embittered about the past? Turn your heart to-

ward God in prayer. Do you sincerely want to forgive

someone? Ask God to help you. You'll discover that the

Creator of the universe can heal every heart, including

Facing Your Fears

They won't be afraid of bad

news; their hearts are steady

because they trust the Lord.

Psalm 112:7 NCV

Do you prefer to face your

fears rather than run from

them? If you place your trust in God, you'll be able to

do just that. God's Word tells us that when we put our

trust in Him, our hearts will be steady and we won't be

afraid. We'll be able to live courageously.

When the apostle Paul wrote to Timothy, he encour-

aged his young protégé by saying that the God they

served was a bold God and that God's spirit empow-

ered His children with boldness, too. Like Timothy, we

face times of uncertainty and fear. But God's message is

the same to us, today, as it was to Timothy: we can live

boldly because the Spirit of God resides in us.

So today, as you face your fears, remember that God is

with you, and you need not be afraid. Let Him steady

your heart.

EVANGELIST MINISTRY

The church has really been on the move this past month; have enjoyed the fellowship and been blessed beyond measure. The Evangelist Team went to Mineola Health Care and fel-lowshipped with the residents there. Sister Morgan and the Youth Praise Team were there and blessed them as Zion performed for

them by doing an awesome and praise filled dance. Reverend Foster of-fered praise and worship followed by heart filled song and words of en-couragement by Sister Patricia Wright. She spoke from Colossians 4:13 and everyone present felt blessed to hear the message. Sister Betty Mor-gan shared further words of encouragement and closed us out with pray-er. FOOD FOR THOUGHT Humility Brings Peace. God honored Abraham’s humility and blessed him abundantly with fruit-ful land. I believe God has a great plan for each of us, but prideful atti-tudes can prevent us from having all that God wants us to have. A bad attitude is one of the most important things on which we can work with God to overcome. The Bible says that strife and contention come only by pride. You cannot have strife if you don’t have pride. Pride was Lu-cifer’s sin, and it is so deceptive that proud people don’t know that they are proud. When people are deceived by pride, they blame others for everything that goes wrong and fail to see their own faults. Romans 12:16-17 reads: Live in harmony with one another; do not be haughty (snobbish, high-minded, exclusive), but readily adjust yourself to people, things and give yourselves to humble tasks. Never overestimate yourself or be wise in your own conceits. Repay no one evil for evil, but take thought for what is honest and proper and noble aiming to be above reproach in the sight of everyone. We ask that anyone wishing to receive a blessing, to come and join us as we go out and share the gospel of Jesus Christ.

OUTREACH

MINISTRY

Outreach Ministry visited

multiple places this past

month. A visit in the home

of Mother Lavonia Grant

was very enjoyable and a

blessing both ways. Such

pleasant conversation and

catching up to do, a couple

of hours passed with realizing. Mother Grant is such a

wonderful lady and loves receiving visitors, and we are

praying she will be able to come and worship with us

real soon. She stated that she has a small garden even

though she has to facilitate it with the help of her

walker!!

A visit to Wood Memorial Care Center found former

high school Coach Lewis, a former teacher and football

coach for MISD. He was surprised and very pleased

that we stopped by to visit with him.

At Mineola HealthCare (formerly Community Care)

found Avanell Carson all smiles and happy to see us.

She sends her love to the congregation and hopes she

can join us for church services in the near future.

A phone call was made to the home of Michael

Williams, but he was not up to receiving visitors on that

day. Please remember him and all that are ill or just

needing an encouraging word in your prayers.

The Outreach Ministry is encouraging others to join us

or pray with us as we do so. In our modern

technological world, where everything is available to us

in a matter of seconds, prayer may seem outdated to

some. After all, no matter what the problem or need we

have may be, there is probably an app for it! Has

technology replaced prayer? No! In fact, the abundance

of technology may increase our need for prayer and

reliance on the Lord. Praying for others is an integral

part of the Christian life. We need to help other

believers, and praying for one another is one of main

ways we can do that.

Note:

Asking all women for $10 .00

so we can reach our goal of

$500 for revival. (Thursday,

SENIOR SAINTS

The weather for Senior Saints Day dawned rainy and dreary, but the atmosphere inside was as a blinding ray of sunshine. After prayer and a pleasant lunch, it was time to bring out Bi-bles, pen and paper and get down to the meat of the matter.

The challenging questions for the month were:

In Matthew 11:1-30 to whom was Jesus speaking?

In Acts 1-8, to whom was Jesus commissioning His disciples to go by the cities names?

What were the signs of the Holy Ghost coming on the Day of Pentecost in Acts2:1-13?

Test your knowledge and see how learned you are.

After informative and lively discussions on these questions and other relevant topics, we felt spiritually fed to the max. It has been noted by a certain senior saint that we are being groomed to be the ministers that God commissioned all of us to be.

Please put on your spiritual think-ing cap and plan to join us for our next meeting on June 18th at SPMC Fellowship Hall where you are guaranteed to receive a tre-mendous blessing.

Bible Study Notes

Happy June All…. We are continuing the study on “Areas of Ministry”. We have learned that we need DESIRE, DETERMINATION and DISIPLINE for our ministry to grow. We have to want to grow, be persistent to grow, train, and use self control to grow.

Every instruction we need to live and be the disciples, evangelist, teachers, preachers or whatever it is God has called you to do, is found in the Bible.

God’s Word teaches us that when we receive Christ as our Savior and Lord, He gives us a new nature. He gives us His nature. He also gives us a spirit of discipline and self-control, which is vital in allowing us to choose the ways of our new nature. God does not manipu-late us, but gives us free will. We must choose spirit over flesh and right over wrong.

If our Spiritual Growth is to increase it is vital to desire, be determined and disciplined in the area’s of :

Faith:

To the Lord, b.) To leadership, c.) To Love

Fruitfulness:

By asking, b.) By abiding, c.) In our abilities

Faithfulness:

In Ministry, b.) In Mandates, c.) With Money

Humble yourself to His will, be loyal, trustworthy and accountable to His Word. Don’t just merely believe, but practice making FAITH a living action/reality in your life. Be the vessels to do Gods will, and works. Our deci-sions or actions should always line up and agree with God’s will and Word. Live your life, and minister according to the truth of God’s Word. The Bible will deal with every issue you will ever face. The more we read and study God’s word, the easier it will be to overcome the issues you are dealing with. The words of Scripture are alive; they are full of the Power of God. The Word of God is our daily instruction book to encourage us, inspire us, help us to overcome, lead us to make good decisions, to empower us to hear and obey God’s voice. In turn we learn to be and grow in our ministry. Enjoy your life, Be a joy to someone’s life. God never told us we would not have trials or storms…, or that he would remove the trials or storms…, but he did say that He would be with us thru them.

That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God; Colossians 1: 10

For both he that sanctifieth and they who are sanctified are all of one: for which cause he is not ashamed to call them breth-ren Hebrews 2:11

When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, Nor shall the flame scorch you”. – Isaiah 43:2

May's Brotherhood was held at First Christian Church. We would like to thank the Lions Club for the wonderful break-fast that was prepared for us. Bro Jenkins taught the lesson this month coming from Judges 2: 2-4. In this lesson we learned that the Children of Israel had disobeyed God's Word, but be-cause of His love he would not

break his covenant with them. Because of their disobedi-ence, God didn't drive out their enemies from the land instead their enemies were a thorn in their sides. After the people heard this, they lifted up their voices and wept. Next month lesson will be held at St Paul Fellow-ship Hall at 9 o'clock am. Bro. Jeremy "Burger" Lip-scomb will bring the lesson. The lesson comes from Judges 6: 11-16. I want to thank all the brothers that contributed to our booth at the nature preserve. It was a great success. Remember that brotherhood is the 1st Saturday of each month. We pray that all brothers would come out.

St. Paul Usher's Ministry

The work of the church ushers is undergirded by scripture found in Psalms 84:10 – "For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.”

Ushers are often the first voice and the first interaction visitors experience at a church. They are responsible for bringing comfort, compassion and the spirit of God’s blessings to all who enter the church doors. Their overall mission is to be of service to the church family when needed in order to further the Lord’s message of loving one another even as God has loved us. Ushers fulfill their mission by:

Greeting people as they enter the service;

Ensuring that worship services are orderly by determining when people enter the sanctuary, directing people to seats, providing guidance for worshippers during the offertory period, and minimizing people walking about during service;

Assisting worshippers, as needed, to be comfortable and to have the nec-essary tools during service, programs, tissues, fans, offering envelopes, or, at times, water;

Answering questions; and,

Representing the St. Paul Baptist Church when assisting the ushers at oth-er local church services/programs. ( Internet source) We would like to welcome Lamar and Amanda Burrell to the ushers ministry. They have both joined the ministry with hearts to serve. We thank God for sending them our way. I would like to personally thank all of the ushers who traveled with us to Ft. Worth. We had a blessed time in the Lord.

Pastor Boyd would like to thank all those who traveled to New Creation MBC Ft. Worth, TX. A special thanks to our St. Paul friends & family in the Dallas, Ft. Worth area who met us there. We had a wonderful time in the Lord, we showed up in number and God showed out. Thanks for your love and support!

~Marriage Ministry~ Submitted by Sis. LaVada Jenkins

St. Paul's Marriage Ministry for May was held here at the fellowship hall. Our theme was "Fiesta Faith - Loving According to Knowledge". We had a great time of food, fun, and fellowship. This month's lesson was another great one and everyone, we pray, left with a greater understanding of our relationships. Intro: If you want your marital relationship to have a fiesta and not take a siesta, then it is wise to seek God's wisdom. Without it, we are operating on our own merits, emotions, and incite yourself and others without any true direction on what God has designed for your marriage. One quick way to turn a hot tamale relationship to guacamole is to not view it as a ministry. God has purposed each marriage to reflect His church. Eph.5:27. When couples do not operate in their ministries the marriage suffers. The Holy Spirit can't create a oneness when one or both are not seeking partnership. Self-centeredness and selfish motives will never bring marital fulfillment. It's like you're cuddling. You can stay wrapped up like a burrito all night, but the cheese don't melt. The marriage should be a partnership like chips and dip. There should be mutual submission, reverence, and praise to God for one another. Eph.5:19-21. Things that can help your relationship have a fiesta and not a siesta: 1. Know that most of us married potential not perfection: We married what we felt was good for us at the time or who had potential to meet some type of need in our lives, who we felt we could mold into what we wanted. Then their imperfections started. 2. Understand Personal issues and personalities: Men often have personal issues that they struggle with and never own up to or communicate. These issues can hinder the relationship because now the wife has to deal with them to unlock your potential. This can be a struggle for her because your neediness will leave her stranded because there is nothing to meet her needs due to the man's selfishness. Over time this needy spirit will control the wife's personality and keep her from developing to her full potential. * A woman's personality will reflect your issues *A man must make sure he has a many personalities as his wife, so that when she shifts, he can shift. *God created Adam to till the ground so he functioned best with specific things that didn't change much, but Eve he fashioned to establish the home, so she was best suited to multi-task in a constantly changing environment and she is prone to personality changes. 3. Dwell according to knowledge: 1 Peter 3:7: Men, If you don't learn everything your wife is, her personalities, seasons, days, times, attitudes, and dispositions, you won't be able to dwell with her according to knowledge. A woman wants you to know what she needs. It's like she's always saying "Feel how I'm feeling" And doesn't want to explain. She wants you to know. Can you feel me? Can you feel that I am starving for you to say what I need? Or do I have to walk around with an attitude all day in order for you to get the picture that I am burned out. The wisdom of God's word is our guide and should be priority for the direction of our marriages. Again we encourage more cou-ples to join us next month. The theme will be announced.

The College Ministry has played a great roll in my life as a college senior, encouraging underclassmen to seek Jesus Christ. Entering into college or transferring from a previous institution can be overwhelming. The College Ministry can help build a foundation of success

while away from home at college. Transportation is provided by the church or Ms BJ which allows students to attend Sunday worship service, Wednesday Bible Study or other church related events. Through the church Ministry, teaches spiritual growth in the Lord.

Obedience that can help you in you future endeavors. Thank you Pastor Boyd and St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church family for your prayers and welcoming us, Texas College students to worship with you. To Ms. BJ, thank so much for believing in me and being there when needed. I will graduate this spring semester receiving a bachelor’s degree of science in sociology. I have preserved myself through

trials and tribulations to have achieved my GOAL. Philippines 4:13 I can do all things through who strengthens me.

Congratulation to 2015 Graduate's….

~~“Youth Ministry”~~

Submitted By Sister Rachelle Tennyson

Thanks to the parents of the

youth in the community for

pardoning with the our

Youth Ministry; the attend-

ance and participation in

Sunday school, Wednesday

nights, and Sunday services.

Please continue.

Joy class is working on vari-

ous bible stories. We covered the story of God blessing

Sarah with a baby and Esau and Jacob is for the month of

May.

Ages 8-12 are joining with the Joy Class on covering bible

stories, working on books of the Bible, the alphabet scrip-

tures, how to act in God's house, and dealing with some of

the realities of life.

Teenagers are still covering the 7Realities.

Thanks to all of the children for coming out and we ask

that you continue to bring your children out to support the

youth ministry as well as the teaching of God.

We look to have some fundraisers throughout the summer

and we appreciate any donations to our youth ministry.

The McFarland Community Cen-ter, 708 S. Stone, will host the East Texas Food Bank Summer Lunch Program again this year. We are in need of helpers and it’s a great opportunity for students to get community service hours for college. The program will start Tuesday, June 9, 2015, 12noon - 2p.m. We will also have pickup this year and we will pro-vide a sign-up sheet soon.
