Sameer Patel, ConductorA Detroit native, Sameer Patel currently serves as associate conductor of the San Diego Symphony. He has performed as a guest conductor with many leading orchestras, including the St. Louis Symphony, National Symphony, Toronto Symphony, Leipziger Sinfonieorchester and others.
Patel studied at the University of Michigan and later moved to Europe to further his training. His mentors include Gianandrea Noseda, Daniele Gatti, Kurt Masur, Bernard Haitink, David Zinman and Neeme and Paavo Järvi. He is the recipient of three Solti Foundation U.S. Career Assistance Awards, as well as citations from the Accademia Chigiana, Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy Foundation and League of American Orchestras.
Chief Warrant Officer Kevin Pick, ConductorOriginally from New Windsor, New York, Chief Warrant Officer Kevin Pick earned a master’s degree in music from the University of Southern California and a bachelor’s degree in music from Ithaca College. Before joining the United States Army, CW2 Pick spent five years as a public school music teacher in New York and Ohio, and since then his assignments have included the USAREUR Band and Chorus in Heidelberg, Germany, the 323D Army Band in Fort Sam Houston, Texas, and most recently at the 392D Army Band at Fort Lee, Virginia, where he served as commander and bandmaster.
Jazz Ambassadors of the United States Army Field BandThe Jazz Ambassadors of the United States Army Field Band is the United States Army’s premier big band. Formed in 1969, this 19-member ensemble has received great acclaim both at home and abroad performing America’s original art form — jazz.
The Jazz Ambassadors of the United States Army Field Band has performed in all 50 states, Canada, Mexico, Japan, India and Europe, and in joint concerts with the Boston Pops, National Symphony, Pittsburgh Symphony, Seattle Symphony and many more, as well as at Carnegie Hall with Erich Kunzel and the Cincinnati Pops.

ALCOHOLState law prohibits bringing alcoholic beverages onto village property. Alcoholic beverages are available for purchase in designated concession areas.
CANCELLATION POLICYSevere weather or other uncontrollable circumstances may cause the cancellation of a performance. If this occurs, you will be asked to evacuate Greenfield Village as quickly as possible. Ticket exchanges will not be possible due to limited capacities for each performance. Refunds will not be issued, but you will be given an option of another Detroit Symphony Orchestra performance at a different location or a daily combo admission ticket to The Henry Ford, or a credit toward the purchase of a new or renewal membership to The Henry Ford. Cancellation options may not be combined with other offers.
