Capoeira Ache Brasil Calgary Batizado 2018!

Our teachers and students have been working hard all year studying the art of Capoeira. This is a

weekend to continue learning, celebrate with old and new friends, and receive the belts made by

all of the students.

A Capoeira Batizado is an annual graduation ceremony celebrating the progress that students have

made over the past year. Mestres & teachers from other groups are invited to teach workshops which allows an extraordinary exchange of information while allowing students to come in contact with the

many cultural aspects of capoeira.

Batizado is a chance for students to progress to a higher graduation, or receive their first cord. When a student is first baptized in capoeira he or she receives a nickname or apelido, chosen by the Mestres &

teachers involved.

Capoeira Ache Brasil Batizados take place over a weekend where workshops are taught on Friday and

Saturday and the final Batizado ceremony is held on Sunday afternoon.

Batizado is a very important event for Capoeiristas and everyone should do their very best to attend!

Allow yourself enough time to find parking and the proper studios. Students should wear white shirts & abada.

Please bring socks and shoes to preserve your feet for the weekend. Also bring a water bottles and any medications, tape and snacks you may need.

Arrive prepared and on time so we can get the weekend started smoothly.

Please bring a warm sweater, sweatpants, socks and shoes for training. Ideally these items should be worn over your uniform so we can get started shortly upon arrival. We will be doing two workshops in a large covered concrete arena Saturday afternoon.

Featuring: Mestrando Superhomem, CM Reni, Break, Prof. Barra & Prof. Budoy Also bring a water bottle and any medications, tape and snacks you may need. Please advise us about any medical conditions you may have.
