Amanda Mauppin

The fight is finally over and Amanda has won. On February 10, 2012, she passed

away in her home surrounded by family. Her cancer is finally gone and she is

sharing her fashion in Heaven with all the angels. She was buried at the La-

masco Cemetery. A memorial service was held on February 16 at First Baptist

Church in Bonham, Texas. Brother Craig officiated the event. At the memorial,

Amanda’s life was celebrated; Mr. Shaw told heart-warming stories and Kassie

Shaw and Bro. Craig sang a song that Amanda had written. Amanda was so won-

derful and truly cared about others. When she was homebound, she always

wanted to know what was up with her friends at school and hoped they under-

stood. Although she is not here with us anymore, she is still in thousands of

hearts that she has touched. For all of us who knew little Miss Amanda, we

know she is unforgettable. Though life may give you struggles, remember to

“Live life the Amanda Mauppin way!!!”

Senior Spotlights! Jake Nichols is a 17 year old Senior at Sam Ray-

burn High School. While his college choice is un-

known at the moment, he does know that he wants

to go to be a sports journalist. Out of school Jake

says he spends most of his time just hanging out

with friends and watching foot-

ball–he’s a New York Jets fan.

His best friends are Kellen

Murphy and Jake Davis, and his

most embarrassing moment was

when he got his tongue stuck to

the door of one of the big

freezers at Wal-Mart.

Stefanie Hutchings is a Senior here at Sam Ray-

burn High School. Her favorite class is Theatre

because it is fun. She likes to Trick Hoop, read, and

write in her free time. She wants to go back to It-

aly for vacation. She has always had a love for Mus-

tangs. Her favorite song is

“Good Riddance,” by Green

Day. She loves all animal, but

she would have to say her fa-

vorite is the Panda Bear.

Stefanie’s most embarrassing

was when she fell off the

stage at Centennial and

dropped 5 feet.
