The Sam Smith record cover, in the lonely hour, Sam's body language is representing that he is lonely and depressed, hence why he writes about love and depressing songs.
Sam Smith is the main focal point in his record photo; he stands out so his fans will automatically buy his CD and automatically recognise him.
Sam SmithIN THE LONELY HOUR
This stands out the most, his name is bigger and in bold to make sure that you are able to see it. In
the lonely hour is basically trying to say, he's having a lonely hour.
They have put Sam in front of a dull grey background, ‘grey’ is not a happy colour, in fact ‘grey’ gives off a bad vibe. And also Sam's body language on how he is sitting on the chair shows he’s not happy.
Sam looks quite serious about his feeling and you can actually see that he looks lonely and sad.
Sam’s wearing dark denim jeans and a dark top as well as a dark jacket over the top. They aren’t very
eye catching colours; in fact they are boring and dull. Also he looks very pale and that's weird
because a ‘pop music record cover’ is normally eye catching and fun with bright outstanding colours
and this is boring and sad with dull, moggy colours.
His attitude in his pose is sort of natural, like it doesn't look like he's been made to be in a pose maybe he's sitting there thinking and they just took the photo. It
looks fresh and natural.
