Samba Preclin Transducer Pressure can be measured in very small cavities or directly

in the tissue of small (or large) animals. The ultra-miniature size minimizes insertion trauma. Insensitive to EM radiation and RF fields (MRI scanner,

microwaves etc). Direct measurements with very high precision are made at

the sensor location. The transducer does not affect the measuring environment

itself. Low risk – no electricity or bio-hazardous material. Long transducer possible (up to 10m).

Fast and Simple Start-Up Procedure1. Insert the Samba transducer

The transducer is factory calibrated - No further calibration is needed!2. Turn on your Samba 200 Control Unit

Allow internal circuitry temperature to stabilize (1-2 minutes)3. Set the “zero baseline” against ambient air pressure

The transducer is factory calibrated - No further calibration is needed! Simply follow instructions on the screen (‘ZERO’ or ‘PREVIOUS’)

4. If needed set measurement rate, Absolute/Relative mode, pressure unit etc. or load pre-defined Profile

5. Connect to PC or Data Acquisition System (DAS)When connected calibrate DAS by pressing ‘ANALOG CALIB.’

6. Remove protective cover, apply sensor in object and start measuring!

Samba vs. CompetitionThe Samba system…1. …has a simple and fast start-up procedure (~3 min) – just Plug’n Play!

2. …is factory calibrated and doesn’t need further calibration, only an automatic “zero baseline” set against the atmospheric pressure.

3. …is extremely fast (up to 40 kHz data sampling rate) and can record high-speed trauma events, for example ICP events caused by collisions.

4. …is fully MRI compatible and completely insensitive to any electro-magnetic waves radio waves or electrical noise. Real-time measurements and simultaneous recording of both visual and physiological effects of for example a drug is possible. Gating (MRI scanner triggering) for improved MR image quality and movie sequences is also feasible.

5. …can measure pressure both in gas and liquid, which allows a very broad use.
