The purpose of the Coalition Smart Border Working Committee is to bring together the relevant stakeholders from both the private sector and the public sector to work together for solutions to secure border crossings that do not compromise the efficiency of the vital commerce that is essential to the economic prosperity of the world’s largest bi-national metropolitan area. The Committee meets bi-monthly.

Among Coalition Current Projects• Assure the funding to complete Phases 2 of the San Ysidro Port of Entry
Modernization.• Support Otay II project to relieve cargo and auto congestion• Support regional efforts to assure rail capacity from Tijuana-Tecate and
Ensenada to the United States both west and east• Support the San Diego Cross Border Terminal at Tijuana International
Airport.• Support implementation of California Enhanced Drivers’ Licenses• Support allowing buses of less than 30 passengers to cross the border
