DESCRIPTION

Sandwell Council has teamed up with local arts organisations to present the second annual extravaganza, starting this Saturday, July 9. This year there are more events across the borough, many of them free - and organisers hope to beat last year's audience figure of 10,000 people. Deputy Mayor Cllr Ann Shackleton will launch the fun at Queen's Square Shopping Centre in West Bromwich. Cabinet member for leisure services Cllr Linda Horton said: "The guide has everything you need to make the most of the festival fortnight." The council is working on the festival with Multistory, Black Country Touring, Coneygre Arts Centre, The Public, Sandwell Third Age Arts on the festival, and Sandwell Primary Care Trust.

WELCOME TO TWO WEEKS OF SUMMER FUN SANDWELLARTS FESTIVAL 2011Welcome to the Sandwell Arts Festival 2011, two action-packed weeks of events across the borough featuring top local talent in music, dance and visual arts.

The theme of this year’s festival is Celebrating Industrial Heritage. A particular highlight is the magnificent Sandwell Foghorn. This year we are pleased to take the festival to all of our six towns. Open the brochure and make a date to ‘see it, do it, get creative’.

Sandwell Council, The Public, Multistory, Sandwell Third Age Arts, The Primary Care Trust, and Black Country Touring are working together to make the festival an essential date in the Sandwell calendar.

We are pleased to acknowledge Sandwell Community Caring Trust, Queen’s Square Shopping Centre, Tesco Queen’s Square and Thorntons for the support that they have given to Sandwell Arts Festival.
