This new technology interacts (better or worse) with the art world so giddy expanding the range of applications. Sometimes it seems that the medium itself is the message or simply that the articulation its multiple possibilities is enough to validate the work. The pictorial-video, or pictovids, as the artist prefers to call this video work, is a calmer approach to this technology, always from the point of view of the painter. The new digital video technology offers so many resources that sometimes drowns the “traditional” inspiration of the painter and gets him lost in the endless possibilities that the combination of keys and buttons makes it possible. This partly explains the great divide that occurs between traditional painting and artists working with new technologies. Santi Delgado shows that there may be a continuum between the classic job of painting and the new technological resources and that it is possible to remaining consistent with the contemporary artistic legacy of Modernity.
