    Sancharak Training

Sancharaks or computer instructors are freshers or youth with 1 year experience in the teaching field who reside in the same community where they are required to work Through the CAL program, Sancharaks are in constant touch with the students. Hence it is important to train them with the computer syllabus, projects, acvies and video based learning . In this training, 536 sancharaks from 10 states were trained. Trainers gave praccal and acvity based learning soluons for sancharaks to solve their problems and

doubts. During the training the presence of old sancharaks and their experience was a benefit for the new sancharaks to understand beer in the group. As the responsibility of the students lies with the Sancharaks, regular sancharak training is organized every year.

    School teachers training in Washala

The Computer Aided Learning and Digital Literacy as a Life Skill Program was launched in Washala last year in partnership with Bharat Petroleum and Thane Zilla Parishad. In this model, class teachers are given training and they in turn teach their students during the computer class in their school. This is the 2nd year where 46 teachers from 18 Zilla Parishad and 2 ashram school were trained. The training focused on ways to teach the students through project and video based learning. The teachers themselves have prepared projects that the students will have to do in their class.

Chaya lives with her parents, two sisters and one brother. Her father is educated only ll his seventh grade and is a labourer earning Rs. 7,000/- a month. Chaya was a smart child and topped her school during her SSC scoring 68%.

She was learning computers during her college days. During this period she got an opportunity to work as a computer teacher at Matoshree Vidyamandir. The computer class was very small and also had a garage infront of it. Geng students to come for the class was a huge challenge for Chaya. And she accepted it without any hesitaon. She

began teaching the students with complete dedicaon. Chaya has been educated in Hindi medium and this school was Marathi medium. This was another challenge taken up by the girl. She learnt the language with the help of her colleagues and did well.

Chaya was loved by all in the school. She parcipated whole heartedly in all school acvies and this was when an introverted Chaya opened up and turned into a confident and lively person that she now is.

Chaya was very passionate about her role as a teacher and did all she could to be good at it. She went out of her way to teach her students, especially the younger ones who needed extra aenon. She waited aer school hours to help the students understand beer. She worked as a Sancharak (Computer Instructor) for 3 years. Along with this, Chaya completed her graduaon.

While doing her job, Chaya got a hold on the theory and praccal aspect of computers and her teaching skills were polished further. Seeing her hard work and the way she kept excelling, Chaya was promoted to Team Leader. She now heads a team of 14 Sancharaks across 16 schools in Mumbai. She loves her new role and is very happy to train her team and help them whenever they need her. As a Team Leader, Chaya has a whole new set of responsibilies, like, planning, managing and monitoring the classes, solving issues faced by her team, coordinang with school authories, taking classes whenever a sancharak is not in class, collecng fees etc.

She does all this with great interest and love for her job.

“When you work as a team and love what you do, everything falls is place and the outcome is perfect”, says Chaya.

been teaching their students through acvity based learning as part of the Saksham Program 2017-18.

Using these teaching methodologies on a regular basis has proven to be a huge success when it comes to

symbol of appreciaon. Smin Brid from Pratham InfoTech Foundaon and Vivek Kayande from BPCL were

    present.

I have been working as an English and Physical Training Teacher for the 8 to10

standard students for 22 years. The Saksham workshops have taught us a lot

about the use of various teaching aids and acvity based learning. I was amazed

at how this could help students perform beer. Many of my students improved

in English- reading and wring. So many of their inhibions vanished. It was a

first me experience for most of us teachers. My confidence in how I can bring

about a change in my students increased immensely. The fun filled environment

that we have, research based methods, producve exchange of thoughts and

ideas and experienced trainers in the Saksham Program is very fulfilling and

    worth it

Since I was in school I have a dream to work in the banking sector and all thanks to Digital Sakshar Course, I got a job in RBL Bank as a group leader in the credit card department. My basic responsibility here is to call and sell credit cards to our customers. I remember when our Sir from Digital Sakshar course told us that they are offering two months basic computer course along with placement support. For me it was unbelievable. My first impression was, how can anyone offer free of cost course with placement support, knowledge of so skills, grooming, interview skills and they are also providing laptops. It's hard to believe because I have not seen anything like this before. But now aer compleon of the course I must say Digital Sakshar is unique in many ways. I would like to thank Pratham InfoTech Foundaon and LTI for this opportunity.

Deepa Sharma (Group Leader RBL Bank)
