All set to oat their business

40 women from Mahul village were trained in advance

beautician skills by Pratham InfoTech Foundation in

partnership with BPCL and Anil Asrani Vocational

Institute. This batch was started from 1 March 2018 to st31 July 2018. The main motive is to provide employable

skills to all the women, so that they can start their own

business and be self sustained. During the course,

theoretical knowledge and practical exposure was

I am Asha Rahul Patel. I live in Ambada village near Mahul. I wanted to

pursue something which benets me professionally and soon heard of a

beautician course that was going to begin especially for Mahul villagers. I

decided to pursue this course because I always had an interest in this

sector. I would also be able to manage my home and work simultaneously

after I join somewhere. I started 6 months ago with Basic Beautician course

in which we practiced waxing, head massage, facial, hair cutting and bridal makeup. After

the completion of the basic course, we were also offered an advanced level course too.

I have gained a lot of theoretical and practical knowledge. I thank Pratham InfoTech

Foundation, BPCL and also our teacher Asha Bodake Ma’am for giving us all the exposure

needed to do something in the eld. In future I wish to assist any beautician or if I get the

needed funds, I would love to set up my own beauty parlor.

-Asha Rahul Patel

SANVAAD15

“Way back in 2016, I had been told that there are few women from

Mahul Village who need to be trained professionally to be

beauticians. The motive was to create an employment opportunity

for them. I trained many girls between the age group of 18 to 25.

Training these women, who are mostly housewives seemed like a big

challenge and I accepted it as an opportunity to do something good.

We started our rst batch in 2016 with 32 participants. Some of these

women have now started their home based business.

A few women showed an interest to set up a full edged business, and for this they need to

have a deeper understanding of concepts with a polished and advanced skill set. To make

this possible, we have started an advance course in which we have not only covered

advance level makeup, but we also teach them about parlour maintenance, purchasing

products, charges and margins. All this information will certainly help these women to setup

their business in today's competitive market. I want to thank Pratham InfoTech Foundation

and BPCL for this social initiative which will help these women to become entrepreneurs in

the near future.
