About these Release Notes

These Release Notes contain important information about known issues, fixed issues and design limitations present inSAP BusinessObjects XI 3.1 SP7. To see if a known issue from a previous release has been fixed, use the ADAPTnumber of the known issue to search within the PDF. Before installing the software, we recommend that you read theentire document.

This Service Pack can only be applied on top of SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI3.1 / Crystal Reports 2008. You have two options for installing SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 3.1 SP7 and its associated programs:

• A patch update install that can upgrade your current SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 3.1 installation. For moreinformation see the Update Installation and Deployment Guide for this release.• A full installation of SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 3.1 SP7. See the SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 3.1Installation guides for this release.

Known Issues and Limitations for SAP BusinessObjects 3.1 andCrystal Reports 2008 - Service Pack 7

SAP BusinessObjects Desktop Intelligence

When a BOE user whose logon name contains the '%' character logs on to theDesktop Intelligence client, the new wizard appears, even though "Show welcomewizard" is disabled by the user.

ADAPT01676631If the logon name of a Business Object Enterprise (BOE) user contains the '%' character, when the user logson to the Desktop Intelligence client the new wizard appears, even though the user has disabled the "Showwelcome wizard" option.

SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise

Auditing information is not written to the auditing database.

ADAPT01679952Auditing information may not be written to the auditing database if the message size is too large.

The workaround is to use a command line parameter to specify the maximum length of a detail: “-auditor_maxdetaillength <value>”. The value can be up to 204800.

How to use the "wdeploy deployall" command

ADAPT01700406WDeploy can successfully deploy all web applications to the default web application server. For other webapplication servers such as WebLogic11, the following web applications require additional steps:

AnalyticalReporting (WebI) VoyagerClient

Perform the following steps in order to deploy these web applications:

1. Change the name of the file <install dir>\deployment\apps\AnalyticalReporting.properties to <install dir>\deployment\apps\AnalyaticalReporting._properties

2. In the same directory, change the name of the file VoyagerClient.properties to VoyagerClient._properties

Side-by-side installations with SQL Anywhere not supported

ADAPT01711140Running multiple separate installations of BOE using the integrated SQL Anywhere database on the samephysical machine is not supported. Doing so will result in install failures or database failures in all subsequentBOE installs.

SQL Anywhere BusinessObjects User Account may not be accepted

ADAPT01715714When you perform an installation with the integrated database (SQL Anywhere) option, you may see themessage “the CMS user already exists” when entering the SQL Anywhere BusinessObject User Account.The BusinessObjects Enterprise XI full installation program cannot run from a network location with theintegrated database feature selected.

To successfully run the installation program, copy the full package installer to the local drive and then run thesetup.exe from there.

Use a keycode that contains the Auditing feature

ADAPT01680349A full install using a keycode that does not include the Auditing feature will fail. Ensure that your install isperformed using a keycode that includes Auditing.

You may encounter a problem using authentication with JD Edwards EnterpriseOne

ADAPT01677059While configuring authentication with the JD Edwards integration kit, you may encounter the message"java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: com.jdedwards.system.xml.XMLRequest".

SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise requires JD Edwards 8.95 binaries and does not support the 8.96 binaries.

Follow the instructions "‘To provide access to required EnterpriseOne files" in the document “SAPBusinessObjects Enterprise Integration for JD Edwards EnterpriseOne" and copy the 8.95 binaries from theJD Edwards system to the BusinessObjects Enterprise system.

SAP BusinessObjects Integration Solutions

PS8 registry value overwritten by Integration SP7 patch installation

ADAPT01713290The PeopleSoft Enterprise applications Integration SP7 patch overrides PS8 registry values. After installingthe patch, the PeopleSoft SSO server will not start.

If the PS8 registry was not backed up before the Integration SP7 patch installation, perform the followingactions after the installation:1. On the QRY server:a. Locate HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Business Objects\Suite 12.0\Integration Kit for PeopleSoft\QRY in the registry, and ensure that "Path JVM Library" points to <install_dir>\javasdk\jre\bin\client.On a UNIX platform, the QRY server registry is located at <install_dir>/bobje/data/.bobj/registry/software/business objects/suite 12.0/integration kit for peoplesoft. b. Locate the <install_dir>\BusinessObjects Enterprise 12.0\win32_x86 folder, and execute the followingcommand:crpsqryserver.exe -setup -psuser <user_name> -pspass <password>On a UNIX platform, crpsqryserver is located at <install_dir>/bobje/enterprise120/<platform>.2. On the SSO server:a. SAP BusinessObjects Live Office

Live Office requires Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 on Windows Server 2012

ADAPT01700019Before you install Live Office XI 3.1 on a Windows Server 2012 machine, you must enable Microsoft .NETFramework 3.5 on the machine. Otherwise, Live Office will not function.

SAP BusinessObjects Voyager

Text in the header of the last column in a crosstab may exceed the column width

ADAPT01714389In Internet Explorer 11, if the header text of the last column in a crosstab exceeds the column width, the textcontinues past the column border. This issue may occur with member headers and calculations that havelong names.

The work around for this problem is to increase the width of the last column in the crosstab.

SAP BusinessObjects Web Intelligence

Error while creating or editing an existing Web Intelligence document using theRich Internet Application in .Net InfoView on IIS 8.5 or .Net Framework 4.5

ADAPT01719023The issue is observed when .Net Framework greater than 4.0 is used.

To resolve this issue:1. Launch the Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager.2. For the Server Home, add a MIME Type with the following configuration: File name extension: .wis MIME type: application/isapimodule3. Expand Sites and in the /AnalyticalReporting Home, open the Handler Mappings and add a Script Mapusing the following configuration: Request Path: *.wis Executable: C:\Program Files (x86)\Business Objects\BusinessObjects Enterprise12.0\win32_x86\cdzISAPI.dll Name: BusinessObjects Web Intelligence4. Click Request Restrictions and in the tab Mapping, uncheck the “Invoke handler only if request is mappedto” option.5. In the Verbs and Access tab, select “All verbs”. Leave Script selected.6. Restart IIS.

This problem happens when any BusinessObjects Enterprise components, except the Web Intelligence RichClient, has been previously installed on the machine.

ADAPT01147512Description:Using the Import Wizard, when the "BusinessObjects 6.5 User Personal" document is imported in Japaneselanguage, the document name is found to be corrupted.

ADAPT01511169Description:Temporary files may remain after installation on a Unix or Linux machine

During installation, files with read, write, and execute (777) permissions are created in the <PATH>/bobje/tmpfolder. These files are not cleaned up after the installation has finished.

New Behavior:The problem is resolved on Solaris and Linux.

Limitations:This problem is not resolved on AIX and HP _ia64 platforms, and files with names such as .MwSocketxxxxx mayremain.

ADAPT01522670Description:When viewing a recurring instance of a document that uses events in Java InfoView, an error message appears:"An error has occurred: java.util.NoSuchElementException".

This problem happens to users who have been granted full rights on the report object but are denied view rights toevents. This problem does not happen in .NET InfoView.

New Behavior:This problem is resolved.

Limitations:

ADAPT01566899Description:Passwords may fail to be encrypted in the Universe Designer login window.

This problem happens when the option "Private" is set to "No" under "Password" in the .cod file for the connectionserver.

New Behavior:This problem is resolved.

Limitations:

ADAPT01577652Description:The .NET InfoView values shown for report schedule duration are incorrect.

ADAPT01594465Description:A Central Management Server (CMS) in the cluster becomes unresponsive, which renders the entire clusterunresponsive. One result is that users experience very long delays when trying to log in.

New Behavior:This problem is resolved.

Limitations:

ADAPT01609753Description:Attempts to schedule a Web Intelligence document with Japanese in the instance title to a comma-separatedvalues (CSV) file to a Linux file system fails.

New Behavior:This problem is resolved.

Limitations:

ADAPT01614510Description:In InfoView (BI launch pad), when report parameters are based on a Business Warehouse (BW) query and haveassociated pick lists, the pick-list values fail to be displayed when SAP-style prompting is used.

In addition, if a parameter has a default value, the SAP-style prompting interface fails to display the default value.

New Behavior:This problem is resolved.

Limitations:

ADAPT01616514Description:Members of the Administrators group are unable to view source document instances for publications on thescheduling History page.

New Behavior:This problem is resolved. The Administrators group can view and open source document instances and Inboxcontent for standard users in the Central Management Console (CMC).

Limitations:

ADAPT01623513Description:In the Toolbox, folders at different directory levels with the same name may display incorrect information.

For example, consider a parent folder named 'A' that contains a subfolder named 'B', and a folder named 'B' at thesame directory level as folder 'A'. The top-level folder 'B' incorrectly displays the contents of the subfolder 'B'.

New Behavior:This problem is resolved.

Limitations:

ADAPT01627754Description:In .NET InfoView, when viewing the history of a report that has alerts configured within it, alert icons are notshown.

New Behavior:This problem is resolved.

Limitations:

ADAPT01629458Description:When settings are changed on the Preferences page in .NET InfoView (BI launch pad), those settings fail to beapplied on the InfoView (BI launch pad) page.

New Behavior:This problem is resolved.

Limitations:

ADAPT01630912Description:When you send a Web Intelligence document to a user via the Business Objects inbox, if the document is markedas read, the sent document is also marked as read in the receiver's inbox mail.

New Behavior:This problem is resolved.

ADAPT01636975Description:In the Central Management Console (CMC), folders may fail to display all entries for a page after the entries aresorted.

For example, when sorting by Owner, only the items for one owner are displayed when the folder contains itemsbelonging to several owners .

New Behavior:This problem is resolved.

Limitations:

ADAPT01639396Description:When adding a new SAP user account to an existing role that is mapped in the Central Management Console(CMC), the SAP alias for the account fails to be automatically created in the CMC.

This problem remains even though the new SAP user account can be used to successfully log in to InfoView (BIlaunch pad).

New Behavior:This problem is resolved.

Limitations:
