Solution Manager Diagnostics Integration

This document provides an overview of SAP Solution Manager Diagnostics Managed System Setup and Configuration for SAP BPC, i.e. SBOP PC 7.5. Please refer to the SAP Note 1461749 for further references.

Managed System Setup and Configuration in Solution Manager 7.1 (SP03 and higher)

SAP Solution Manager Diagnostics in SAP Solution Manager depends on the definition of technical systems

in SAP Solution Manager System Landscape Directory. In the following, we describe the steps required to

create or maintain the technical systems for BPC.

Prerequisites

Before starting the managed system setup and configuration of a technical system for SAP Solution Manager

Diagnostics in SAP Solution Manager, you have to ensure that the prerequisites referred in the following

WIKI page are fulfilled: http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/SMSETUP/Home

SBOP PC 7.5 for SAP Netweaver

Installation/Update of SAP Host Agent and SAP Diagnostics Agent

An SAP Host Agent and an SAP SMD Agent (Diagnostics Agent) need to be installed on all servers (hosts) where BPC Application Servers, or Web Servers are installed. Please refer to SAP Note 1448655 to install SAP Diagnostics Agent 7.3 and SAP Note 1031096 to install or upgrade SAP Host Agent to the latest version.

During the installation of SAP Diagnostics Agent, please connect it to SLD and Solution Manager P4 port.

Installation of CA Wily Introscope .NET Agent

The collection of CA Wily Introscope performance metrics for BPC servers needs to be enabled. Please refer to SAP Note 1126554 to install CA Wily Introscope .Net Agent on all BPC .Net servers.

Creation of Technical Systems for MS IIS Web Server

1. Logon to SAP Solution Manager system.

2. Enter Transaction Code LMDB.

The Technical System Editor will open in a web browser.
