Matthew 2:10-11a 10“When they saw the star, they were overjoyed. 11On coming to the house, they saw the Child with His mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped Him.” (NIV) One of the most humble and respectful ways that the wise men worshiped Jesus was when they, as grown men, bowed their knees before a two year old child.

Psalm 95:6-7 6Come, let us worship and bow down. Let us kneel before the Lord our maker, 7for He is our God. We are the people He watches over, the flock under His care. If only you would listen to His voice today!” (NLT) Bowing can be a sign that we are pursuing the Lord for His direction for our lives.

Mark 1:40-42 40“A man with leprosy came and knelt in front of Jesus, begging to be healed. ‘If you are willing, you can heal me and make me clean,’ he said. 41Moved with compassion, Jesus reached out and touched him. ‘I am willing,’ he said. ‘Be healed!’ 42Instantly the leprosy disappeared, and the man was healed.” (NLT) Desperation can lead us to pursue Jesus after trying everything and everyone else.

Shell Osbon: “When life gives you more than you can stand then that’s a great time to kneel.”
