On behalf of everyone involved I would like to welcome you to the “2017 Western Elite” our Eighth Annual Sale in the Yards at the National Western Stock Show. As you will see the core operations involved in this year’s sale are the same as you’ve come to expect. These firms share the same belief, passion and commitment to bringing you an offering of UNEQUALED QUALITY and DIVERSITY. The Western Elite, from its inception has focused on being a first class event that is unique and different than anything at the stock show featuring an offering of “Elite Seedstock” from breeders that understand the business and are in it for the long haul. As you view this catalog that “Presents the Offering” we hope it is clear that we have dug deep into our herds to bring you a set of females that again, is beyond impressive. The offering is deeper and more diverse than ever. It is colorful…Twenty percent of the cattle are Charolias influenced or Red and represent the very Elite of Charolais and Club Calf Genetics. The balance of the females are everything you have come to expect of The Western Elite. American Agriculture and especially the cattle business is in a time of transition. It is more important than ever to differentiate ourselves in terms of quality. Those with the truly premium products will thrive. Now is the time and the Western Elite is the place to invest in quality genetics to put your program in the DRIVERS SEAT for years to come. We didn’t have enough room in the catalog this year to print the Western Elite success stories but, there are numerous examples of cows that doubled and even tripled there purchase price with their first calf. We thank our valued customers for making this Event a huge success over the last seven years. Whether you are a repeat buyer or a first time attendee we welcome you and truly appreciate your interest in our programs. THE QUALITY RUNS DEEP…Please visit www.ccollinsinc.com to view the video previews. The cattle will be in the “Yards” and available for your inspection starting Thursday January 12th, 2017. We would invite you to inspect the cattle at our ranches at any time prior to the Sale. We hope to see you in Denver, please call if we can be of any assistance.

Lot 1 - Duello Yellow Jacket 111

Where do I start…Except to say that I believe that this is the best cow that I have ever owned. This baldy cow is the right size, the right kind and the right color…She will make Breeding Cattle or Show Steers…For haired or slick shearing country. 111 is a beautifully balanced female that is stellar in her lines and striking from the profile. She is perfect on her feet and legs, good jointed and moves like a cat. This is a wide based, thick ended, square hipped female that is absolutely massive bodied. The upper rib shape, rump design and build of her top is unmatched. We flushed her once this spring and once this fall. She is a good embryo producer to date she has produced from 12 to 23 viable embryos per flush. She has been a great producer…She doesn’t just look good she’ll put money in the bank. There has never been a Cow at Duello Cattle Company that more people have tried to buy than Lot 1.

Classic Whiskey Genetics at its Finest!!!

I DONT KNOW WHERE YOU WOULD FIND A COW WITH MORE MASS, POWER, PROFILE AND BALANCE!!! I absolutely adore this cow in every way and from any angle. She is sooo powerful and massive yet smooth, attractive and correct. She raised an exceptional Monopoly daughter in 2016 that is sure to be a stand out in the 2018 Western Elite. The cow has never been flushed but desperately needs to be. I look forward to exploring the future of this great female with my new partner. Two people in the last month have asked me how you can sell a cow that good. Plain and simple, I committed to bring you the best and I’ve got bills to pay.

Lot 3 - Duello Total Solution 2037

SELLING ONE HALF INTEREST - POSSESION AND/OR THE OPTION TO DOUBLE UP AND OWN HER ALL ARE NEGOTIABLE AFTER THE SALEHERE IS A REAL POWER COW!!! I have always admired the Total Solution cattle especially the females. 2037 is a long necked, massive individual that is big hipped, stout featured and good looking. For one this massive she blends extremely well from her shoulder back in to her fore rib and topline. She has incredible rib shape, depth of body and flank. This cow is as thick and square out of her hip as any female needs to be, and she maintains that dimension clear to her hock. The flexibility and structural design of the cow is also beyond impressive. She raised an awful good Steer in 2016 Sired by Gold Rush. This is kind, when mated to Monopoly

Lot 4 - Duello GL Irish Whiskey 3-94

I mentioned elsewhere in the catalog that there will be large number of cows at the top of a lot of lists…And this is sure one of them. This is perhaps the cockiest fronted, heaviest muscled and biggest boned of the direct Whiskey Daughters. Lot 4 is extremely clean chested, choke necked, up headed and stylish through her front one third. She is balanced as you can ask one to be and has a monstrous hip and rear quarter. She is big boned, good footed and excellent on the move. Here is a cow that is so impressive in terms of power and design that it is hard to explain. There is no doubt in my mind that you can make breeding cattle and show steers out of this one. In fact, just imagine for a minute just how good the Daddys Money this cow has on board could be.

THIS IS ONE CRAZY, WILD LOOKING BEAST THAT IS AS STOUT AS YOU CAN MAKE ONE!!!This sure might be as good of a Steer Momma as will be offered this season. She is clean fronted, up headed, good chested and a well-balanced cow that has a killer profile. The top shape, thickness of hip and overall muscle in this young cow is astonishing. She is good from the ground up, has square set feet and good joints on all four corners…And believe me this chic can get out and move. She doesn’t just move good for a thick, stout one…she can just flat out gooooo. Here is a great cow in the prime of her life.

From the inception of this event I committed to OFFERING THE BEST so here’s your chance to partner with me on a great cow. This cow is highly proven. She was flushed and produce several high sellers at her birth place, Collins Cattle Co. She has an awesome Solid Gold daughter in the replacement pen at DCC. The Bull pictured and the bred heifer selling as Lot 58 in this catalog are FULL SIBS IN BLOOD to the calf 016 is carrying. Three different cows but identical genetics. The guess work is gone here folks. I am crazy about the balance, smoothness, femininity, udders, rump design, presence and consistency of these cattle. 2033 is a full sister to four females that averaged over $10,000 in the 2016 Western Elite and a full sister to the pictured $40,000 Cookie. She was an absolutely amazing heifer calf that I sold Cory Thomsen and Brian Geottemiller a few years back. She was shown very successfully by the Chamberlin’s early and was sold to the Walker Family. Her promising show career came to a tragic end when she died due to a fatal reaction to vaccine. We lost the 6056 Donor this fall so this will be the last one ever…I probably need my head checked for selling her. Lot 8 and all of her sisters are the flatter made, smoother constructed, leveler designed, looser moving more feminine Whiskeys. This cow is big time good and a true sale feature.

The Whiskey’s just keep coming. Every one being offered will be at the top of some list. This particular cow has been a very consistent producer of quality. Here is a cow you really need to see in person to truly appreciate. I am not making excuses for the cow but if you buy her on order or over the internet based on this picture I assure you when she comes off the truck you will be the happiest person that didn’t get to be in Denver for the sale! She has got the “Whiskey” look, big bodied, good necked, thick ended, square built, clean made and attractive. Her mother was a great Meyer cow that had a special place in my heart. Anybody that has ever been to DCC will remember her. She was the incredible blind Baldy in the front pen. I don’t know anybody that would keep a blind cow around for five years if she wasn’t the real deal. Help

The impact that Irish Whiskey has had on the Maine Anjou and Club Calf Business is well documented and widely believed. He is the dominate Sire in the history of this business, and it is well deserved. The daughters of this great sire are the most sought after females and have been for many years. They continue to demand GREAT PREMIUM whenever they are offered. In fact, a Reimann Whiskey Bred heifer just brought $77,000 last week at the First Class Sale. Lot 10 isn’t just a Whiskey…SHE’S ONE OF THE GOOD ONES YOU WILL GET A CHANCE TO ACCUIRE. She is pure power in a well balance good looking package. She wears the Griswold brand and we all know that means quality. She came right out of ET and was intentionally left open. She’s ready to flush and guaranteed to work.

Can be Registered ½ Simmental. This is one unique half-blood Simmy. I bred most of the Wide Open Daughters to Maternal Made but when this one came to the chute to be bred the MAB heifer selling as Lot 45 happened to be standing right across the fence cocking off and I thought why not!! Look at those two pictures and recognize that it’s much more than color pattern that is similar. And it won’t matter what sex the calf is, it will be big time. This female is so elevated in her front end, slick chested, and giraffe neckedfor any breed of cattle but especially a half Simmy, it’s amazing. She does all that and still has the balance, bone, body, top, and hip shape that it takes to raise the great ones. This beast can go both ways with ease…Breeding Cattle or Club Calf, pick your poison.

THIS ONE HAS THE WOW FACTOR!!! AND SHE SHES NOT JUST COOL COLORED…SHE IS BIG TIME GOOD LOOKING. It is hard to build them this good. This female is so long fronted, clean chested, skinny necked and up headed. The remainder of her outline is equally impressive…She is strong and smooth behind her shoulder and a strong, level topped female that’s awesome about her hip and tail head. This chic has the right amount of muscle shape, hair and bone to go all the way. We had two Maternal Made Bull Calves this Spring out of Monopoly’s that aren’t near as good as this cow that were flat awesome. I sold one of them high to Tony Jeffs, He text me just this week and said the steer looked incredible and thought he was a big timer…And Russ let the best one die.

Lot 13 - Duello Poison Arrow 2043

This young baldy cow is about as fault free as you are going to find. The Poison Arrow females are some of the most versatile, well balanced, good uddered and productive cows on this place. We lost him this year and are going to go back to using him heavier in our AI and ET Program. 2043 has tremendous spring and depth of rib and is thick and square hipped, bold and strong topped and shaped the way they are supposed to be. She is a correctly proportioned, beautifully balanced female that is very good in her structure and great on the move. This cow is exactly what hoped for when I bought Poison Arrow from my good friend Dr. Jeff Holmes. Help yourself to one of the best cows in the sale. The mating options are virtually endless here.

Cow can be Registered ½ Simmental. Here is a power packed offering of Maternal Genetics and astonishing phenotype. I love this baldy cow…She’s got tremendous extension, femininity, structure and balance. 2001 compliments her good look with exceptional power…this female is deep sided, bold sprung, big hipped, good boned and does all this in a smooth attractive package. The Wide Open daughters are everything I had hoped they would be. Good built, easy keeping, heavy milking brood cows that consistently generate the good ones. I bred most of the Wide Opens to Maternal Made for a good reason…Last spring there were a lot of good Maternal Mades born here, one particular heifer bred just like the one this cow carries is likely the BEST HEIFER CALF THAT EVER WALKED THIS RANCH. I sold half of her to the Skyles Family for$ 50,000 and she will be hard to turn next summer.

Lot 15 - B3 Monopoly 433

This stunning 3 year old is exactly why we bring cattle to the Western Elite, the quality is there. She was to be a sale feature in the 2016 Sale, but calved late with a Recall Whiskey heifer calf (We are the winners by keeping this calf). Our best option to get her here in her prime production was to breed her for a southern calf, Troubadour will do nicely in this mating. If you get a chance to see her, you can see why we wanted to offer this genetic power. Her dam is a moderate Meyer 734 daughter that has the ability to hit with whatever sire you use on her, a great trait to have in your program. If you are not in the southern market, calve her out , flush her and she will be on spring pace.

She is a Draft Pick 600 daughter, these cows were the biggest bodied, moderate, and some of the best producers for Ray Farms. Her credentials speak for themselves, if you look at the picture of her 2016 calf by Bandwagon it’s evident that we bring the goods to town.

Folks these cows are good and the quality runs deep. Don’t get hung up because they didn’t get a big picture page. These are historically the best buys in the sale. This is a really good young ½ Simmental cow with tremendous mating flexibility. She is a moderate framed, great necked, square hipped, big ribbed female that is sound, good balanced and powerful. I really like this flashy brockel faced Wide Open Daughter. She is no stranger to the Western Elite. Her mother was a High Selling Featured Lot at one of the first Western Elites Selling to Blackford Show Cattle. She has very successful Donor and Josh will tell you she has made him a lot of money. The good Whiskeys keep coming. Lot 25 is another Top Self Donor that originated in the Griswold Program. She is an awesome beast…Everything you would expect from these genetics and John’s program. She is a long bodied, big ribbed female with lots of power and balance. 388 is excellent on her feet and legs, good looking from the profile and super sound. This is absolutely the biggest bodied cow I have ever seen! You can believe it or not but she had no feed and only one half a bucket of water in the 24 hours before we pictured her. You can see she is HUGE BODIED, SQUARE HIPPED AND GOOD LEGGED. She is strong and square in her build and really pretty darn pleasing from the profile. 207 will consistently wean a 700+ lb calf and be fatter than a barron cow every time. Selling Choice of these 3/4 Black Baldy SistersWe don’t sell many open heifers in this sale but we thought these two were destined to come to Denver. Both of their sires were the highlight of the Simmental breed in the year they were sold, LLSF Uprising Z925 ($140,000) and WS Revival ($160,000 record setting). Their dam, SF Pride 528, keeps shelling great ones out time after time to every bull we flush her to, with all but one flush producing over 12 embryos. We now have nine daughters in our herd, heifers have sold to Iowa, Wyo, Neb, OK including a Dream On @ $14500 in Western Elite (these two heifers are the first baldies) plus we have shipped embryos to numerous breeders. You can bank that this cow family will throw BODY in her progeny, it makes it fun to choose which sire to flush to. Both heifers are true representatives of maternal traits but they do it in a little different package. Lot 41 (Lady Dawn 65) is a little stouter in terms of muscle and body, Lot 42 (Lady Delta 653) is real elegant, long in her lines, with that long swoop to her underline. She is giraffe necked, clean through her jaw and chest. Smooth as glass through her shoulder as she ties into a huge back and ribcage. April stands on huge feet, with plenty of pipe, and is extremely athletic. With plenty of Maternal Power in her pedigree, going back to OCC Anchor. Her first calf sired by Revival will be a PHENOMENAL Combination!!! BIG TIME DONOR CANDIDATE!

I HAVE ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS ONE SINCE BIRTH!!! You can always count on her OCC Freestyle dam to bring in a good one every fall and she did not disappoint here. Dazzle is clean chested and into her front one third. She is big bodied, with depth that carries from her chest and maintains all the way through to her flank. When you get behind her, she has the width and thickness you expect and carries that power into a big turn to her ribcage that gives a REAL POWER COW look. She is the Perfect combination of Style and Power. I look for her first calf by Revival to be INCREDIBLE!!!!

If you like the combination of look and pedigree in one package, step up to the plate. This is a daughter of our GREAT CASHMERE DONOR that I purchased through this ring. I felt I bought the best one to sell that night and she has proven herself time and time again. Her most recent success was 5TH OVERALL STEER AT THE 2016 HOOSIER BEEF CONGRESS, sired by Here I Am. She has excelled my expectations. I don’t expect any different from her own daughter sired by Uprising. Now pay attention to the way 491 blends everything together from front to rear. She has the perfect head and neck junction at the shoulder, and stands with great set to her shoulder and legs. Her extra dose of volume through her middle and a big, powerful hip. Maternally made and bred to the Hot New Blaze of Glory!

THIS SILVER FOX IS HOT TO TROTT!!! This female is a crowd favorite among early visitors and Judging Teams at the Ranch. And for good reason. She is an extremely long necked, clean designed, well balanced heifer with power to burn. I really like the way her neck comes high out of her shoulder, then she blends the way they are supposed to back in to a big, bold strong top. Her tail head sets perfect on the end of her spine and she is a big square hipped hussy with amazing power from behind. I love the bone, hair and flexibility she exhibits…And this one can move like a show dog!!! I truly believe this female is a great breeding piece that will make a big time impact for the last guy with his had in the air. Symmetrically made, with complete femininity and sharp features – this heifer has it all. A STUNNING REDHEAD, WITH INCREDIBLE STYLE AND PIZZAZ. She is gorgeous haired, striking from the profile, yet carries plenty of power and dimension through her middle and down her top. If you aren’t familiar with Extra Special. I have only had a handful of these but they are all High Quality, Extremely Stout, but what I love the most about them is there soundness. He adds so much flex at the ground, no matter what he is mated to.

Man Among Boys left us with a red, solid patterned heifer that has the ability to work with about any sire out there. I think she could throw a yellow, red, black, red blaze face or you name it, based on what you choose to breed her to. She sells bred to Redemption, the breed’s top registration sire, who is most appreciated for his heifer safe calving ease and functional phenotype.

This cow family has done an excellent job for us raising champion show steers. We mated her maternally to A Step Up with the thought of raising a female that could continue this ability but have that little extra correctness of structure that could blend with today’s club calf sires and make high quality progeny. She carries those maternal traits but should have that extra little punch to get her in the limelight.

I will promise you that this heifer will be damn site higher in the sale order than she is in Lot order. I apologize to my partners on this one, but she simply refused. As I wrote earlier, the good outfits will find her. These Exit 174 cattle are the real deal. I am confident in saying that Exit 174 and his sibs have consistently generated as much value as any mating in this game. Read more in the Footnote of Lot 44.

This 180 is out of an awesome first calf heifer that Steve and Fran sent me from Ben Kelly. Very interesting pedigree. I80, Whiskey, Heartbeat, Heat Seeker… Couple that with the look you get of her in Denver. And you will agree…Big time steer making machine. Find her at the stock show or take my word, this will be a good buy.
