The Oakville Edge synchronized skatingteams will host their annual Christmas IceShow this weekend at River Oaks RecreationCentre.

The event, slated for 6:30-8:30 p.m.Sunday, will feature the full spectrum of syn-chronized skating, from the Oakville Intro-to-Synchro to the internationally-rankedteams from FUSION.

The Intro-to-Synchro program is a 10-week course that provides introductoryopportunity for skaters, culminating in theIce Show. Joining those skaters will be theOakville pre-juvenile (skating to music from

Coppelia) and juvenile (skating to musicfrom Cars) teams.

FUSION and other highly-competitiveteams will also participate. Another antici-pated highlight will be the “Dads’ Team”.

The Oakville Edge will offer a bake sale,raffle prizes and silent auction items at theshow. Melanie Rose, illustrator of KurtBrowning’s book A is for Axel: An Ice SkatingAlphabet, will be in attendance to sign copiesof the book. Browning will have previouslysigned 100 copies of the book, which will besold for $25 with all proceeds benefitting theOakville Edge synchro teams.
