The Native Forest Network suggests that there are four kinds of paper to be considered for use:

1. One hundred percent post-consumer waste paper - or as near as possible.

2. Paper sourced from alternative fibers - such as hemp, kenaf, Bagasse, wheat straw, rice straw, etc. Such systems also reduce air pollution and help farmers get extra value !

3. Paper that has minimal pulp and papermaking emissions - and does not use chlorine bleaching and is manufactured in a closed loop system (i.e. full effluent recycling).

4.The energy used to manufacture paper: Is it renewable i.e. Biomass / Solar / Hydro

WHAT IS ENVIORNMENT FRIENDLY PAPER ?

Present Situation4 Billion Trees are cut every year for manufacturing paper

18 trees need to be cut to produce 1 ton of writing paper.

80,000 acres of forests are disappearing from the face of the earth every day

Rate of Reforestation is half of deforestation

FloodsWith rising temperatures and devastated forest lands floods are posing a serious threat

DroughtDrought is also an outcome of climate change: Some places will get extra rain and some will get none.

VictimsMillions are victimized every year : Either by Cyclones , Earthquakes , Crop failures

If we don’t act now it will be too late.

Facts About PaperForests store 50% of the world's

terrestrial carbon. (In other words, they are awfully important "carbon sinks" that hold onto pollution that would otherwise lead to global warming.)

Half the world's forests have already been cleared or burned, and 80% of what's left has been seriously degraded.

42% of the industrial wood harvest is used to make paper.

The paper industry is the 4th largest contributor to greenhouse gas emissions among United States manufacturing industries, and contributes 9% of the manufacturing sector's carbon emissions.

Paper accounts for 25% of landfill waste (and one third of municipal landfill waste).

Municipal landfills account for one third of human-related methane emissions (and methane is 23-times more potent a greenhouse gas than is carbon dioxide).

If the United States cut office paper use by just 10% it would prevent the emission of 1.6 million tons of greenhouse gases -- the equivalent of taking 280,000 cars off the road.

Compared to using virgin wood, paper made with 100% unconventional content uses 44% less energy, produces 38% less greenhouse gas emissions, 41% less particulate emissions, 50% less wastewater, 49% less solid waste and -- of course -- 100% less wood.

China, India and the rest of Asia are the fastest growing per-capita users of paper, but they still rank far behind Eastern Europe and Latin America (about 100 pounds per person per year), Australia (about 300 pounds per person per year) and Western Europe (more than 400 pounds per person per year). What can you do Go Green is about environmentally

friendly work practices; promoting eco-friendly business activities, encouraging and helping our customers to operate 'greener' businesses, through sharing of ideas and public discussion.

One ton of environment friendly paper saves about 20 trees . Our Organisation has tied up with a few firms that help saves 6000 TREES a day and 25 Lakh TREES a year!! Now that’s more than a forest….

You can be a part of this campaign and decide to use Paper without destroying trees. Forward this to your friends if you think it can benefit the society.

Responsible Citizen

Sustainable economic, environmental and social

development

Asia is becoming a net-exporter, but there is a

need to balance economic, environmental and social

factors to make Asia’s growth sustainable“We owe that to our

children”

Corporate Social Responsibility

As part of its green commitment, Save the Forest will promote energy conservation and an emission reduction policy. While satisfying the increasing need for paper and supporting the economic sustainable development.

It will make every effort to ensure a better natural environment, realize clean production and fulfill social responsibility.
