A century ago, India had about 40,000 tigers. By 1988, as result of extensive hunting and poaching there were just 4,500 left.
Tigers are also disappearing fast due to heavy deforestation by humans.

These ecosystems supply both nature and people with fresh water , food and many other vital services – which means by saving the tiger , we are saving people too.
