Double-click on Serif Design Suite

Double-click on Serif PhotoPlus X5

Close this window. Go to File – Import – Select Source Select the scanner

Choose the type of picture you want to scan When scanning documents to use on the SMARTboard, click on Adjust quality and choose 100 DPI resolution. Click OK. Scan

To select the region to include in your scan: You can use OPTION 1 Shape Selection Tools or OPTION 2 Crop Tools. To use OPTION 1 - Shape Selection Tools: click on the corner and hold your mouse button down as you adjust the square size. You will get a running dashed line around your selection.

Hold your mouse over Image and select Crop to Selection At this point you can crop again or save. To use OPTION 2 - Crop Tool: Click the corner and proceed as above. To accept click the check mark to Apply Crop. To undo click the X to Cancel.

At this point you can crop again or save. To save your scan: File - Export Click the down arrow to go to the drive in which you want want to save your file
