The story opens with the arrival of Mr. Santos, the author, in Kalamazoo where he was

asked to speak in October while the war was still on going. On the night that he had spoken to

the audiences, he met a ilipino named Mr. !elestino abia, who had been far from his country

for almost "# years, and Mr.Santos was really surprised when he had knew that Mr. abia had

traveled a miles $ust to hear him speak. %n the middle of their discussion, Mr. abia asked him

whether that ilipinas were still the same or if they had changed, &ecause Mr. Santos did not

want to hurt the feeling of Mr. abia, he told him that all ilipina women changed but their hearts

and feelings remained until the present days. 'ith this response, Mr. abian was pleased and

    seemed to satisfy.

(fter the lecture session, Mr.abia waited for Mr. Santos and invited him to have a

dinner with his family, though they were poor, they still manage to ask Mr. abian to have a

bonding with them. )e even told Mr. abia that his wife and son would be very glad to see a

first*class ilipino. Mr. abian, without having any option, accepted the invitation.

'hen they were finally arrived in the farm, he can obviously smell the scent of the fresh

apple. They ate lots of fruits and when Mr. abia already decided to left, Mr. abia beaded him

with sweet goodbye. Mr. Santos also proposed Mr.abia that when he got back in the +hilippine,

he will give him an update about his place. &ut then he refused and said that his family might

    had forgotten him already.

(s the story ends, they shook each others head and gave farewell goodbyes-
