SCHEDULE

RESEARCH:

During my research, I will be looking into digipacks consisting of posters, album covers and videos of the same artist and comparing them to other artists. This will hopefully help me narrow down what genre I would like to choose when producing my own products. It will also give me some pointers on how to make my products better than trying without researching. My completion date for the research will be based around the 24th July, this should then keep me in line for the rest of my schedule, allowing plenty of time for improvements when needed.

A lot of videos begin with either establishing or long shots and then get closer up as the video continues to gain out attention or they could use a different idea of starting really close up so we know what’s happening. There is often also a lot of technical use to enhance it’s appeal and although we don’t seem to see storyboards they are a big part when creating a video so there is some idea as to what should be happening at certain stages.

This should be completed around the 10th September as there is a lot to consider.

PLANNING:There will be numerous things that need to be considered when planning the project such as: scripts, shot lists, storyboards, and animatics. These will mainly be viewed when analysing videos as all factors can help make the videos more appealing to it’s intended audience.

This part into my portfolio is important but more crucial with the final cuts than the rough ones. As the rough cuts are generally ‘rough’ copies of the storyboards it is ok for them to look like they need improving as long as when it is at the final stage, it looks completed. The rough cuts re there just to give you a good basis as to what ideas and how well they will work in the video. The date I will aim to have my rough cuts created by will be the 20th September, and then I will leave just over a week to improve the rough cuts into final cuts and have that completed (hopefully) by the 1st October.

Mock-ups will be a big part of this project to enable improvements for the completion. This area will concentrate on the poster and album covers that will be designed in accordance to the video made before. The promotional ideas should link together either subtly or very obvious, but have a big affect on the ‘intended audience’. The date I will set myself for the mock ups will be the 15th October and the final deadline 31st October. This should give me enough time to create the ideas as whilst working through the video, I hope to have a few ideas gathered from that to interlink between the video, poster and album cover to create intertextuality.

To help me make my improvements ready for the first hand in, feedback would be necessary so I can gather different views on the matter. I will hopefully have this back by the 10th November so that the revisions can be done for the 20th November.

FEEDBACK & REVISIONS

By the 30th November, I hope to have completed the previous necessities and the evaluation by this date so that my actual first hand in can be the 1st December. If there is more time needed on any parts of the project, especially if improvements are needed then the time I will give myself using the schedule, should provide a little bit more leniency if I’m desperate for time.
