From Ben Franklin Bridge:Take Route 30. Follow signs for Route 38 East.Continue following the directions under “Heading East onRoute 38” below:

Heading East on Route 38From Intersection of Route 541 and 38: head East on Route38 for 2.9 miles and turn left onto Smithville Road. Travel ¾mile and turn left at Event Parking sign.

Heading West on Route 38From Intersection of Route 206 and Route 38: head West on Route 38, travel ¾ mile past the NJ Motor Vehicle Inspection Sta-tion and turn right onto Smithville Rd. Travel ¾ mile and turn left at Event Parking sign.

11:00am – The Lion King Lives presented by Faith in Action A theatrical production with Music & Dance. Adapted from Disney’s Lion King and Faith in Action! Performing Arts. http://faithinactioninc.org

12:30pm – Universal African Drum and Dance Ensemble presented by the Unity Community Center of South Jersey Due to popular demand returning to Arts in the Park, the Unity Community Center of South Jersey bring their electrifying cultural celebration of African Dance and Drum representing the beauty of African Culture and family. 2:00pm – Cinderella, Cinderella presented by the Bridge Players Theatre Company Thrill to an interactive version of this beloved fairy tale. Children can JOIN the ACTORS ON STAGE to help tell the story of a servant girl who becomes a princess.

3:00pm – April Mae & The June Bugs - Roots Baby Roots! Americana under the influence of jump blues, rockabilly & swing. “With a sound built on cigar-box

STAGE 2Located in the courtyard (Area 2) within the walls closest to the Mansion.

Grab a hotdog or hamburger from the FOMAS Grill, listen to music, then take a tour of the historic Smithville Mansion. Proceeds from the grill and the tours benefit Friends of the Mansion at Smithville.

12:00pm & 2:00pm– American Dance from Africa to Broadway presented by the Okra Dance CompanyExplore how American dance evolved from its African roots and European influences. Performers will take you from classical court dances and the Irish reel, to vaudeville, tap, and even

the cultural impact of Michael Jackson – all of this and more is packed into this highly entertaining and informative perspective on American history.

1:00pm & 3:00pm – The Irish Balladeer presented by Richard Stillman Take a musical trip to the Emerald Isle with stories, bagpipes, jigs and reels. “Rarely, if ever, do you find all the talents he displayes in one package. Multi-instrumentalist, singer, dancer, storyteller, humorist, and a surprise or two.” –Bergenfield Public Library, Bergenfield, NJ.

AREA 6Located behind the Mansion adjacent to the Mansion.

Entertainment for All Ages!12:45pm & 2:00 pm – Give and Take Jugglers Their impressive juggling comedy and lots of audience involvement will keep all ages mesmerized. Featuring an antique calliope, traditions from vaudeville, circus arts, theater, and live music to create a lively show. www.jugglers.com

MUSICAL LEGENDS TENTLocated behind the Visitors Center

11:30am – The Fire ChildrenA lively, musical rendition of an African Creation Myth from Ghana celebrating the earth and its people of many different shades and colors. As this joyful tale unfolds with Djembe Drum and Thumb Piano, the entire audience joins in with the storyteller through movement games, songs and African dance motions. Life sized Akuaba dolls

and tribal Moon Mask help create a stimulating visual backdrop for this masterful storyteller.12:30pm – Jazz 4 Kids Explore the jazz legends of the world. Lauren Hooker, along with her ensemble, leads the audience through the origins of jazz, beginning the journey with a participatory African

“Call and Response” song, Slave Songs and Spirituals and translating it into singing a “Twelve Bar Blues,” a “Swing” tune, and moving and grooving to a Calypso are exposed to jazz legends Cab Calloway, Duke Ellington, Mong Santa Maria and Sonny Rollins while participating in “Jazz Etiquette,” Trading Fours” and the freedom of improvisational scat singing.

1:30pm & 3:00pm – Paint the Music Interactive and educational exploratory expressions of visual art, the spoken word and improvisational music. In this unique multi-media program the audience creates original artwork while exploring line, shape and color found in live improvisational music, the spoken word, original artwork and slides from the Metropolitan Museum of Art Collection. The musicians conclude the session by improvising and interpreting one or two selected works.

FUN WITH CHALKLocated along Park Avenue all day long!

Chalk the Walk - Open and free to everyone, the Willingboro Art Alliance invites participants to create their own “sidewalk chalk masterpiece” on a cordoned off walkway, creating a long, temporary mural. Sidewalk chalk provided. All ages and skill levels encouraged.

Creation of a Chalk Mural - Watch artists from the New JAAG (New Jersey Alternative Artist Guild) create a themed mural with chalk throughout the day.

THE GALLERIES

11:00am – SharisSharis is a well-defined songstress and experienced musician who opens her heart and shares her soul at every show. She is a singer, songwriter, an acoustic guitarist and an energetic performer. Her original songs explore themes of freedom, love, nature, aspiration, and connection with others. Her sound spans from life’s gentle songs to powerful folk-blues-funk-country-rock with soul-inspired vocals and a grooving edge. Sharis has been performing for over 20 years in Central New Jersey as well as California, Colorado, and Hawaii. She has self produced five original CD’s and is a local guitar and music teacher. Sharis will be hosting the day in the Gallery and will be joining the various artists throughout the day by bringing her diverse vocal harmonies into the mix. www.sharismusic.com

12:00pm – David St. JamesFor 25 years, South Jersey has been entertained by the music of David St. James. Playing at bars, night clubs, special events, and parties of all sorts, David has developed a unique and sharp style that audiences love. With a mixture of pop hits from all eras, and his own original songs, he plays with a seamless flow and dynamic progression from one song into the next. In addition to his career as a performer, David teaches music to students of all ages.

To describe Dr Lou’s style it would be something between Johnny Cash, Bruce Springsteen, Neil Diamond, and John Lennon in various parts, with influences from the Beach Boys, Beatles, Monkees, and many other popular artists. We hope you’ll enjoy a visit with the Dr and come away with a smile and maybe a different perspective. Dr Lou can be found with his band “The Privileged Few” all around New Jersey and PA music venues including his club Dr Lou’s Place in Roebling, NJ.

3:00pm – Tony OTony Ochipinti has been entertaining audiences since the mid sixties. He has experience in many genres of music including rock, jazz, oldies, country and folk. Having formal studies with private teacher Lou Mercuri on guitar, and at The Settlement School of Music, where he studied classical voice as well as harmony and theory and Berklee College of Music, where he majored in music theory and composition, he is not only a student of music but also a teacher. Tony’s playing style and vocal renditions of popular songs will leave you with a refreshing memory of some of your favorites.

View the 39th Annual Juried Art Show featuring fine art by local artists while listening to folk, acoustic and country music throughout the day. Take the steps (Area 3) or use the elevator (Area 5 or 2) to the 2nd floor.

He also creates beautiful recordings in his home studio for many clients from the area. There is a contagious vibe of happiness coming from the stage when David St. James is performing. It is obvious he loves what he is doing and that love is carried to the audience with his songs.

1:00pm – Heidi WinzingerThis Southern New Jersey native writes songs with unexpected topics including the loss of farmland to development, demolishing historic treasures, insomnia, suicide, the euphoria of yoga practice, the diverse soils of New Jersey and the fabled Jersey Devil. After releasing three full length CD’s Heidi Winzinger is turning her attention to the creation of quirky new folk tales she will pair with her new songs inspired by strange New Jersey history. http://www.HeidiWinzinger.com

2:00pm – Dr LouDr Lou is a singer-songwriter, band leader, radio host, club owner, entrepreneur, and philanthropist. He’s been writing and performing music for many years but has been particularly active over the past 16 years. As a solo performer he’s played many different locations including Philadelphia, New York, Atlanta, Austin TX, Colorado, and California. Dr Lou focuses on Americana and issues that present themselves to each

All Day - Founder Louise Calloway will share moving stories and facts about the Underground Railroad. The exhibit will offer visitors a visual presentation of the Underground Railroad experience in America, with emphasis on New Jersey and Burlington County where the Underground Railroad flourished before the Civil War. The exhibit will be moving to its permanent home ‘next door’ during the latter half of 2016.

2:30pm – Historic Portrayal of Harriet TubmanHistory unfolds in front of you through the life story of Harriet Tubman.

Art of Making Paper with Winnie Radolan – AREA 7 Explore the art of handmade paper. Create your own sheet of paper from rag fibers, then decorate and layer it with additional colors and stencils.

Artist Showcase – AREA 3 Courtyard Tent Burlington County Art Guild, Center for the Arts of Southern New Jersey, New Jersey Alternative Art Group and Willingboro Art Alliance showcase their talent. Original paintings for sale.

Basket Making – AREA 7 The Pinelands Folk Music Center will have an interactive basket making demonstration and workshop.

Interesting coloration and textured prints can be achieved by drawing onto the plate or using found and natural objects as stamps. The Heritage Tent– AREA 2 What you will find: Burlington County Prison Museum–information and photo op. The Warden’s House Gallery–Rarely seen works by Mount Holly’s own Hugh H. Campbell. The Lyceum of History & Natural Sciences–Rooted in Agriculture Exhibit, plus a leg bone of a Mastodon one of the many ice age animals to call Burlington County home.

Smithville Mansion ToursThe 1840 estate is open for tours for those who want a glimpse into the life of Hezekiah B. Smith, inventor, entrepreneur, and politician who founded the company town named after him, Smithville. A nominal fee of $4 benefits the Friends of the Mansion at Smithville, a non-profit organization that works to preserve the Mansion. Tours start at the North side entrance of the Mansion. www.smithvillemansion.org Smithville Industrial Village Tours–Visitors CenterGuided tours of the Industrial Village will be offered throughout the day.
