Chief Executive Officer (CEO), an officer in the rank of Secretary to the Government of India manages its affairs Features- It contains two segments- one is Health and wellness centre (The first Health and Wellness Centre was launched by the Prime Minister at Jangla, Bijapur, Chhatisgarh on 14 th April 2018) and PM Jan AarogyaYojana. This is the “world’s largest government funded healthcare programtargeting more than 50 crore beneficiaries. It is a visionary step towards advancing the agenda of Universal Health Coverage (UHC). Ayushman Bharat- Pradhan Mantri Jan ArogyaYojana (PMJAY) will provide a cover of up to Rs. 5 lakhs per family per year, for secondary and tertiary care hospitalization. Over 10.74 crore vulnerable entitled families will be eligible for these benefits.

1. Ayushman Bharat

Features-

PMJAY will provide cashless and paperless access to services for the beneficiary

at the point of service.

Creation of 1,50,000 Health and Wellness Centres which will bring health care

closer to the homes of the people. These centres will provide Comprehensive

Primary Health Care (CPHC), covering both maternal and child health services

and non-communicable diseases, including free essential drugs and diagnostic

services.

The EHCP network will provide cashless and paperless access to services for

the beneficiaries at the both public and private hospitals.

The services will include 1350 procedures covering pre and post hospitalization,

diagnostics, medicines etc.

The funding is shared between centre and state as 60 and 40 respectively.

2. PM Ujjwala Yojna

Launch – May 1st, 2016

Place- Ballia, Uttar Pradesh

Ministry- Ministry Of Petroleum And Natural Gas

Features-

The main mantra of this scheme is Swacch Indhan, Behtar Jeevan –

Mahilaon ko mila samman.

Initially 5 crore LPG connections were the aim to provide in the next 3 years to

eligible BPL households.

The scheme provides a financial support of Rs. 1600 which includes a cylinder,

pressure regulator, booklet, safety hose, etc. would be borne by the Government

for each LPG connection to the eligible BPL households.

The connections under the scheme will be given in the name of women-head of

the households.

The OMCs will provide EMI facility for meeting the cost of stove and the first refill.

At first the identification of eligible BPL families was based on Social-Economic

Caste Census (SECC) data that is being provided by the Union Ministry of

Petroleum and Natural Gas. Now, under the scheme, an adult woman belonging

to a poor family not having LPG connection in her household, is an eligible

beneficiary under the expanded scheme.

To carry the scheme forward and implement it at the grass root level, District

Nodal Officers (DNOs) of the Oil Marketing Companies have been appointed in

each and every corner across the country. These officers are the torch bearers

for implementation of PMUY.

3. Paramparagat Krishi Vikas Yojana

It is an elaborated component of Soil Health Management (SHM) of major project

National Mission of Sustainable Agriculture (NMSA). Under PKVY Organic farming is

promoted through adoption of organic village by cluster approach and PGS certification.

Launch date- April, 2015

Ministry- Ministry Of Agriculture And Farmers Welfare

Features-

Fifty or more farmers will form a cluster having 50 acre land to take up the

organic farming under the scheme. In this way during three years 10,000

clusters will be formed covering 5.0 lakh acre area under organic farming.

There will be no liability on the farmers for expenditure on certification.

Every farmer will be provided Rs. 20,000 per acre in three years for seed to

harvesting of crops and to transport produce to the market.

4. PM Fasal Bima Yojana

Lanch date- 18th February 2016

Ministry- Ministry Of Agriculture And Farmers Welfare

Features-

There will be a uniform premium of only 2% to be paid by farmers for all Kharif

crops and 1.5% for all Rabi crops. In case of annual commercial and horticultural

crops, the premium to be paid by farmers will be only 5% .

There is no upper limit on Government subsidy.

The PMFBY will replace the existing two schemes National Agricultural

Insurance Scheme as well as the Modified NAIS.

The use of technology will be encouraged to a great extent. Smart phones will be

used to capture and upload data of crop cutting to reduce the delays in claim

payment to farmers. Remote sensing will be used to reduce the number of crop

cutting experiments.

Comprehensive risk insurance is provided to cover yield losses due to non-

preventable risks, such as Natural Fire and Lightning, Storm, Hailstorm, Cyclone,

Typhoon, Tempest, Hurricane, Tornado. Risks due to Flood, Inundation and

Landslide, Drought, Dry spells, Pests/ Diseases also will be covered.

In cases where majority of the insured farmers of a notified area, having intent to

sow/plant and incurred expenditure for the purpose, are prevented from

sowing/planting the insured crop due to adverse weather conditions, shall be

eligible for indemnity claims upto a maximum of 25 per cent of the sum-insured.

In post-harvest losses, coverage will be available up to a maximum period of 14

days from harvesting for those crops which are kept in “cut & spread” condition to

dry in the field.

5. PM Krishi Sinchai Yojana

Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana (PMKSY) has been formulated amalgamating

ongoing schemes viz. Accelerated Irrigation Benefit Programme (AIBP) of Ministry of

Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation; Integrated Watershed

Management Programme (IWMP) of Department of Land Resources; and On Farm

Water Management (OFWM) component of National Mission on Sustainable Agriculture

(NMSA) of Department of Agriculture and Cooperation.

Launch date- 2015

Ministry- Ministry Of Agriculture And Farmers Welfare

Features-

PM Krishi Sinchayee Yojana with an outlay of Rs.50,000 crores for a period of 5

years (2015-16 to 2019-20) is to achieve convergence of investments in irrigation

at the field level.

PMKSY is to be implemented in an area development approach, adopting

decentralized state level planning and projectised execution, allowing the states

to draw their irrigation development plans based on district/blocks plans with a

horizon of 5 to 7 years.

PMKSY has the following programme components:

A. Accelerated Irrigation Benefit Programme (AIBP)

faster completion of ongoing Major and Medium Irrigation.

B. PMKSY (Har Khet ko Pani)

Creation of new water sources.

Repair, restoration and renovation of water bodies

strengthening carrying capacity of traditional water sources,

construction rain water harvesting structures (Jal Sanchay);

Command area development, strengthening and creation of distribution network

from source to the farm;

At least 10% of the command area to be covered under micro/precision irrigation.

Creating and rejuvenating traditional water storage systems like Jal Mandir

(Gujarat); Khatri, Kuhl (H.P.); Zabo (Nagaland); Eri, Ooranis (T.N.); Dongs

(Assam); Katas, Bandhas (Odisha and M.P.) etc. at feasible locations.

C. PMKSY (Per Drop More Crop)

Promoting efficient water conveyance and precision water application devices

like drips, sprinklers, pivots, rain - guns in the farm (Jal Sinchan);

Topping up of input cost particularly under civil construction beyond permissible

limit (40%), under MGNREGS for activities like lining inlet, outlet, silt traps,

distribution system etc.

Information Communication Technology (ICT) interventions through NeGP - A to

be made use in the field of water use efficiency, precision irrigation technologies,

on farm water management, crop alignment etc. and also to do intensive

monitoring of the Scheme.

D. PMKSY (Watershed Development)

Effective management of runoff water and improved soil & moisture conservation

activities such as ridge area treatment, drainage line 5 treatment, rain water

harvesting, in - situ moisture conservation and other allied activities o n

watershed basis.

Converging with MGNREGS for creation of water source to full potential in

identified backward rainfed blocks including renovation of traditional water bodies

6. PMGSY (Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana)

Launch date-25th December, 2000

Ministry- The Ministry of Rural Development

Features-

It was launched as a 100 % centrally sponsored scheme.

objective to provide single all-weather road connectivity to eligible unconnected

habitation of designated population size (500+ in plain areas and 250+ in North-

East, hill, tribal and desert areas, 00 - 249 population in LWE districts as per

Census, 2001) for overall socio-economic development of the areas.

The unit for this Programme is a Habitation and not a Revenue village or a

Panchayat.

Under the PMGSY-III Scheme, it is proposed to consolidate 1,25,000 Km road

length in the States. It involves consolidation of through Routes and Major Rural

Links connecting habitations to Gramin Agricultural Markets (GrAMs), Higher

Secondary Schools and Hospitals.

The funds would be shared in the ratio of 60:40 between the Centre and State for

all States except for 8 North Eastern and 3 Himalayan States (Jammu &

Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh & Uttarakhand) for which it is 90:10.

7. Swachch Bharat Mission

Launch Date- 2 October 2014

Place- Raj Ghat

Ministry- The urban component of the mission will be implemented by the Ministry of

Urban Development, and the rural component by the Ministry of Drinking Water and

Sanitation.

The Nirmal Bharat Abhiyan has been restructured into the Swachh Bharat

Mission (Gramin). The mission aims to make India an open defecation free

country in Five Years.

It seeks to improve the levels of cleanliness in rural areas through Solid and

Liquid Waste Management activities and making Gram Panchayats Open

Defecation Free (ODF), clean and sanitised.

The Swachh Bharat Kosh (SBK) has been set up to facilitate and channelize

individual philanthropic contributions and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)

funds to achieve the objective of Clean India (Swachh Bharat) by the year 2019.

The total assistance available for construction of an individual toilet is Rs 4000/-

from the Central Government and an amount of Rs 1333/- at least from the State

Government.

However in the case of the North East States, the states are required to

contribute only Rs 400/- per individual toilet. However, there is no bar on

releasing any extra funds at any stage by the ULB/State Government through

additional resources.

8. Study India Programme

Launch date-2018

Ministry- Ministry Of external affairs and ministry of human resources development.

Features-

To help facilitate the student fraternity from all across the globe to come up and

learn academic learning of top institutions in India.

Focus on international students of South-East Asia, Middle East and Africa.

The initiative is held by EdCIL, a CPSE under MHRD.

Courses are ranging from engineering, management,commerce,photonics to

yoga,ayurveda,athletics and language.

The aim is to double India’s market share of global education exports from less

than 1% to 2%.

30 countries are being focused for this programme.

The programme does not offer any scholarship. Fee waiver is available for

foreign students from 100% to 25%.

9. Poshan Abhiyan ( PM's Overarching Scheme for Holistic Nourishment)

Launch date- 8th March, 2018

Place- Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan

Ministry- Ministry Of Women And Child Development

Features-

Government approved a 3-year budget of ₹ 9046.15 cr, commencing from 2017-

18 for this scheme.

The Abhiyaan targets to reduce stunting, under-nutrition, anemia (among young

children, women and adolescent girls) and reduce low birth weight by 2%, 2%,

3% and 2% per annum respectively.The target of the mission is to bring down

stunting among children in the age group 0-6 years from 38.4% to 25% by 2022.

It will monitor and review implementation of all such schemes and utilize existing

structural arrangements of line ministries wherever available.

Its large component involves gradual scaling-up of interventions supported by on-

going World Bank assisted Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS)

Systems Strengthening and Nutrition Improvement Project (ISSNIP) to all

districts in the country by 2022

10. Mission Indradhanush

Launch date- 25th December,2014 (conducted till August 2017, more than 2.53 crore

children, 68 lakh pregnant women)

Features-

To ensure full immunization with all available vaccines for children upto two years

and pregnant women (coverage more than 90%)

Identification of 201 high focus districts across 28 states that have highest

number of partially immunized and unimmunized children

All vaccines are free of cost.

8 vaccine preventable diseases,

1. Diptheria

2. Whooping Cough

3. Tetanus

4. Polio

5. TB

6. Measles

7. Hepatitis-B

8. Meningitis

‘Catch up’ campaign to catch all children.

Technical support to be given by WHO,UNICEF,Rotart International.

In addition to this vaccines for Japanese encephalitis (JE) , Haemophilus

Influenza Type B, inactive Polio vaccines,rotavirus,measles rubella vaccines are

also being provided in selected areas.

Intensified Mission Indradhanush 1.0

Launch date- Oct 8,2017 to December 2018 (To cover low performing

areas,selected districts and urban areas).

Features-

Full immunisation under Mission Indradhanush to at least 90% coverage,

was to be achieved by 2020.

It is one of 12 best practices from around the world to be featured in a

special issues of British medical Journal.

Intensifies Mission Indradhanush 2.0- December 2019 to March 2020

11.Smart Cities Mission

Launch date- June 25, 2015

Ministry- Ministry Of Housing And Urban Affairs

Features-

Mission will cover 100 cities and duration of 2015-16.

Strategic component of area based development.

Central government proposes to give financial support to the extent of Rs. 48,000

crore over 5 years,100crore/city and matching contribution from the state

governments/Uts.

States are asked to nominate names of cities for a ‘city challenge competition’

and the chosen ones will get the central fund.

Cities will prepare smart cities proposals and the implementation of the mission

at the city level will be done by a SPV.This SPV is headed by a CEO and it has

nominees of central government,state government and ULB on its board. The

SPV will be a limited company in corporation under the Company Act, 2013 at

the city level. 50:50 equity state:ULB.Private sectors/financial institutions could

be considered taking equity stakes in SPV.

12. Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana

Launch Date-November 2008 under the name Jan Aushadi Campaign. In November

2016, to give further impetus to the scheme, it was again renamed as "Pradhan Mantri

Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana" (PMBJP)

Features-

To bring down the healthcare budget of every citizen of India through providing

Quality generic Medicines at Affordable Prices.

Jan Aushadhi Store (JAS) can be opened by State Governments or any

organization / reputed NGOs / Trusts / Private hospitals / Charitable institutions /

Doctors / Unemployed pharmacist/ individual entrepreneurs are eligible to apply

for new Jan Aushadhi stores. The applicants shall have to employ one B Pharma

/ D Pharma degree holder as Pharmacist in their proposed store.

13.Deendayal Antodaya Yojna

Launch Date- June 2011 as a restructured version of Swarna Jayanti Gram Swarozgar

Yojna (SGSY). In November 2015, the program was renamed Deendayal Antayodaya

Yojana (DAY-NRLM).

Ministry- The Ministry of Rural Development (MoRD).

Features-

NRLM has set out with an agenda to cover 7 Crore rural poor households,

across 600 districts, 6000 blocks, 2.5 lakh Gram Panchayats and 6 lakh villages

in the country through self-managed Self Help Groups (SHGs) and federated

institutions and support them for livelihoods collectives in a period of 8-10 years.

To reduce poverty by enabling the poor households to access gainful self-

employment and skilled wage employment opportunities, resulting in appreciable

improvement in their livelihoods on a sustainable basis, through building strong

grassroots institutions of the poor.

The Government of India has introduced a new sub-scheme under Deendayal

Antyodaya Yojana - National Rural Livelihoods Mission (DAY - NRLM) entitled

"Aajeevika Grameen Express Yojana ” (AGEY) from the financial year 2017-18.

To provide an alternative source of livelihoods to members of SHGs under DAY -

NRLM by facilitating them to operate public transport services in backward rural

areas, as identified by the States.

NRLP has been designed as a sub-set of NRLM to create ‘proof of concept’,

build capacities of the Centre and States and create an enabling environment to

facilitate all States and Union Territories to transit to the NRLM. NRLP would be

implemented in 13 high poverty states accounting for about 90 percent of the

rural poor in the country.

The Start-up Village Entrepreneurship Programme (SVEP) is being implemented

as a sub-scheme under National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM) to promote

start - up enterprises in rural areas.
