H.H. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Scholarship for Undergraduate Admissions All programs

UNDERGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMS

EligibilityIn order to be eligible for the scholarship, high school students must be applicants to one of AUD’s undergraduate degree programs. High school applicants should have at least a 90% grade average (or equivalent).

Selection Criteria• Academic performance will be determined by a high school average or CGPA of the

last three years. • Academic letters of recommendation and TOEFL®/IELTSTM/SAT® scores will be used

in case of ties. It is expected that recipients will have earned an academic status well above the minimum required for admission or continuance in a degree program.

• Financial need as demonstrated by insufficiency of financial support to fund educational expenses.

Coverage/RenewalThe Scholarship entitles the recipient to a waiver of tuition (25%, 50% or 100%) for one academic year (2 semesters) until graduation. The Scholarship does not cover either overloads or courses taken in the Summer terms. The Student must enroll for two successive semesters and carry a full load of academic credits (12 to 16 hours) each semester.

Scholarships are renewed on a yearly basis and students are expected to maintain a Grade Point Average of 3.0 or above by the end of each academic year. Failure to comply with any of the above could result in the withdrawal of the scholarship.

The Mohammed Bin Rashid School for Communication of AUD Scholarship ProgramBachelor of Communication and Information Studies (B.C.I.S.)

EligibilityIn order to be eligible for the scholarship, a high school student must be an Arab National and applicant to the Arabic track of the B.C.I.S. degree program, majoring in either Digital Production and Storytelling or Journalism. High school applicants should have at least a 90% grade average (or equivalent).

Selection CriteriaApplicants must be exceptional students with an outstanding high school average; i.e. among the top performers in the class, whether from a private or public school. In addition, applicants must submit a portfolio consisting of samples of their literary/artistic work, along with two qualifying essays in Arabic.

It is expected that recipients will have earned an academic status well above the minimum required for admission or continuance in a degree program.

The Scholarship does not cover either overloads or courses taken in the Summer terms. Junior and senior students, who have completed COMM 241 (Introduction to Production) or COMM 222 (Multiplatform Storytelling), are required until graduation to contribute by volunteering 40 hours per semester toward outside the classroom learning activities specific to the Mohammed Bin Rashid School for Communication.

Scholarships are renewed on a yearly basis, and students are expected to maintain a Grade Point Average of 3.0 or above, measured at the end of each academic year. Failure to comply with any of the above may result in the withdrawal of the scholarship.

ICT Funds Scholarship Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering (B.S.Comp.E.)Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (B.S.E.E.)

EligibilityThe scholarship is only open to UAE Nationals. In order to be eligible for the Scholarship, new students must apply to the Computer Engineering and Electrical Engineering Programs at AUD.• Candidates must have a minimum of 85% average in the secondary certificate or

equivalent• Candidates must fulfill AUD’s Admissions requirements.• For transfer students, a minimum CGPA of 3.00 is required• The Student must also sign an agreement and must adhere to the following

conditions:- The Student will regularly attend classes, and maintain the minimum CGPA

required by AUD and TRA for satisfactory progress and graduation from AUD- The Student will join, upon graduation, a specialized position in the field of

information and communication technology in the UAE.

• Candidates must have maximum age of 24 years• No prior dismissal from any higher education institution for any reason• Candidate must pass required medical tests• No prior conviction of a crime of honor or honesty, or any criminal act. Coverage/RenewalThe Scholarship entitles the recipient to a full waiver of tuition for one academic year (2 semesters) until graduation. The Scholarship does not cover either overloads or courses taken in the Summer terms. The Student must enroll for two successive semesters and carry a full load of academic credits (12 to 16 hours) each semester.

Scholarships are renewed on a yearly basis and students are expected to maintain a Grade Point Average of 2.7 or above by the end of each academic year. Failure to comply with any of the above could result in the withdrawal of the scholarship. Students are expected to graduate within 5 years of enrollment.

The Scholarship also provides a monthly allowance.

du Community Scholarship for Undergraduate Admissions All programs

EligibilityThe AUD-du Community Scholarship was created to reward academic excellence and respond to financial need; special needs, or single parent needs, as such, they will act as an incentive and reward for superior scholastic performance, as well as an economic contribution to the acquisition of an American-accredited university degree.

The scholarship is only open to UAE Nationals. In order to be eligible for the scholarship, a new student must be an applicant to one of AUD’s degree programs. High school applicants should have at least a 80% grade average (or equivalent).

Selection Criteria• Academic performance will be determined by a high school average or CGPA of the

last three years. • Academic letters of recommendation and TOEFL®/IELTS™/SAT® scores will be used

in case of ties. It is expected that recipients will have earned an academic status well above the minimum required for admission or continuance in a degree program.

Wasl Scholarship For Undergraduate AdmissionsAll programs

The asset management group, “wasl” owned by Dubai Real Estate Corporation has organized 10 Scholarships for UAE Nationals to pursue undergraduate studies in various programs at the American University in Dubai.

Through this initiative, wasl aims to carry through the vision and commitment of Dubai’s leadership towards its drive to create a knowledge-based economy. They also aim to encourage and inspire young UAE Nationals to become competent and confident professionals at the workplace.

EligibilityIn order to be eligible to apply for the scholarship, fresh Emirati high school graduates must have a attained at least 85% in their school parting examinations.Furthermore, applicants must meet AUD’s undergraduate admissions criteria.

The Dubai Electricity And Water Authority (DEWA) Intilaq ScholarshipBachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (B.S.M.E.)Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (B.S.E.E.)

EligibilityThe Intilaq Scholarship is only open to UAE Nationals applying to one of AUD’s Engineering programs (Electrical or Mechanical Engineering). In order to be eligible, the candidate’s high school graduation average shall not be less than 80% (GPA 2.5/4.0) as per attested degree.

Selection CriteriaDEWA has introduced this scholarship program targeting the following categories of candidates:• High school graduates• Students enrolled at private/

government universities in their last year or in the year before the final year of graduation

• The candidate must apply and successfully be accepted into one of the following Engineering Bachelor programs at AUD: Electrical or Mechanical.

• The student is required to study at a full time basis

• The candidate must pass the DEWA written exam and interview

• The candidate shall agree to work in the Authority after obtaining the Bachelor’s degree for the duration set by the Authority

• The student shall be medically fit to work

• The student shall obtain good conduct certificate

Rewards and Benefits by the Authority• Tuition Fees coverage (100%)• Monthly allowance – 6,500 AED

for the duration of study as per the program requirements

• Medical Insurance for duration of study as per program requirements

• Additional reward with the amount of 1,500 AED during the student’s summer work placement for six weeks

The UAE National shall be confirmed in a suitable position at the Authority after he/she successfully completes the program and obtains the Bachelor’s Degree. Adequate allowances and salary shall be granted to the successful student as well.

The William Jefferson Clinton Scholarship ProgramCertificate in Middle Eastern StudiesStudy Abroad Program

EligibilityThe scholarship is only open to U.S. Citizen Students currently enrolled as fulltime undergraduate degree candidates at an accredited four-year college/university in the United States.

Selection CriteriaIt is expected that recipients will demonstrate exemplary academic achievement. Provision has been made for up to ten students per semester. Preference will be given to students who show interest in being exposed to the Middle Eastern and Islamic cultures for the first time. Students will also have to complete a phone interview with AUD’s External Relations Office to finalize the application process. Student will be contacted directly to schedule the interview after the deadline date. Coverage/RenewalClinton Scholars will receive:

• A full waiver of tuition for one term;• Dormitory housing at the American University in Dubai on a shared-room basis.

Scholars must carry a full load of academic credit (12-16 credit hours) during each semester of study and 9 credit hours during the summer session. If scholars fail to remain in good academic standing as defined by AUD’s Academic Standards or fail to adhere to the AUD Code of Conduct, program participation will be terminated. Board, texts, transportation and extracurricular activities are the financial responsibility of the student. Kindly note that the AUD Clinton Scholarship Program will only cover 5 courses out of the 6 should the student wish to pursue the Certificate in Middle Eastern Studies Program. Students wishing to take the 6th course will be charged for the actual number of credits required for the course (3 credits or above).

EligibilityThe Scholarship is open to students of all nationalities. In order to be eligible for the Scholarship, new students must apply to AUD’s Master of Science in Construction Management (MSCM) program. Candidates must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 in their undergraduate studies.

Selection CriteriaThe MSCM Graduate Admissions Committee employs the following criteria in its applicant evaluation process:• Applicant’s undergraduate GPA• Applicant’s GRE scores• Applicant’s work experience• Applicant’s statement of career objectives

The Scholarship Evaluation Committee will also evaluate financial need as demonstrated by insufficiency of financial support to fund educational expenses.

Coverage/RenewalThe Scholarship entitles the recipient to a waiver of 50% of the tuition until graduation. Scholarships are automatically renewed every semester or term, as long as the student maintains a Cumulative Grade Point Average of 3.3 or above. Failure to comply with any of the above could result in the withdrawal of the scholarship. Students are allowed to withdraw from a maximum of two courses during the entire period of Scholarship coverage.

The United Arab Emirates Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (MOHESR) has licensed the American University in Dubai and

accredited all of its programs. The university is also accredited in the USA by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) Commission

on Colleges (COC) to award Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees.
