The Hendry County School Board met in Regular Session beginning at 5:30 pm in the SchoolBoard Meeting Room, Hendry Co. Courthouse, 2nd Fl., 25 E. Hickpochee, LaBelle, FL. Those inattendance were: Jon Basquin, Chairman; Dwayne E. Brown, Vice Chairman; Sally Berg,Stephanie Busin and Amanda Nelson, Members; Paul K. Puletti, Superintendent; and Michael R.McKinley, School Board Attorney.
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Basquin.
Pledge & Invocation – Chairman Basquin led the Board and guests in the Lord's Prayer and theSalute to the U. S. Flag.
Moment of Silence - In Memory of Kathleen Crawford - Superintendent Puletti requested thata moment of silence be observed in memory of Kathleen Crawford. Mrs. Crawford was employedas a PE Teacher at Eastside Elementary School from 7/30/01 – 11/15/17.

Brooklyn Villa and Dariel Marines, COES Students - The Superintendent and BoardMembers recognized two Country Oaks Elementary Students, Brooklyn Villa and DarielMarines, for achieving a perfect score on the Math FSA. Superintendent Puletti presentedeach of them with an Achievement Award on behalf of the Board.

Public Comments - Chairman Basquin asked if there was anyone in the audience that would liketo address the Board regarding any agenda item. There was no response regarding agenda items.At this time, two parents, Kristin Green and Rhonda Welky, addressed the Board regarding theirconcerns at LaBelle Middle School.

Brown and second by Stephanie Busin, the Board unanimously accepted therecommendation of the Superintendent to approve the 2017-18 Continuous ImprovementModel, School Advisory Council Roster & Schedule of Meetings for CHS, CMS, CES, EES,WES, LHS, LMS, LES, COES, UES as presented. Add to Agenda – At this time, Superintendent Puletti recognized two Hendry Public SchoolsFoundation Board of Directors members, Lisa Knaack and Tuesday Tritt. Mrs. Knacck made arequest to the School Board that the Foundation be approved to become a non-direct supportorganization. This would allow the Foundation to support the school system but from the privatesector. It was the consensus of the Board that this be scheduled for discussion at the nextworkshop.
