6 November 2015 Good morning and welcome back to the second half of our Autumn term. I hope you all had an enjoyable half term and no doubt are aending firework celebraons which con- nue this weekend. This week I have not only had the privilege of vising all the classes in the school to ob- serve pupils and teachers, but have also indulged in some teaching myself. It was very reassuring to see the children enjoying learning experiences and to be so engaged with learning. It was also pleasing to see the progress that children have made in such a short me. You will be aware that we were benchmarking assessment levels of all pupils just before the half term and have discussed them as a staff team. We will report back to you as parents next week at the consultaon meengs. Teachers will be reporng age stand- ardised scores which will add some context around where your child sits naonally against match aged pupils. Governors met this week to review pupil data outcomes from last year which we were delighted with. We have now been graded as significantly above naonal for all subjects at both Key stage 1 and 2, so a huge well done to all the staff in the school who are so commied to the children and to providing the very best possible outcomes. As well as discussing pupil outcomes, governors looked at all aspects of the school which involve pupils. On Monday, the school met with the financial auditors of the school. Again this was a very posive meeng which reflects the good financial management of the school. However we are sll leſt with the challenges of decreasing funds and higher ex- pectaons from central government which puts enormous pressure on us to deliver such a breadth of curriculum and extended school opportunies. Today is the highlight of the week for the children - the Cake Bake. My thanks in advance to everyone who has supported this event which the children love. I know myself the pressure of whipping up some cakes aſter a busy day at work! It’s a busy week for the school next week. In fact, I have just looked at my diary and seen a full week of appointments followed by meengs or events every evening. One of these evenings is the later parents meeng on Thursday. We are also holding meengs on Tuesday. You should all now have either booked an appointment or, if not, you will be contacted by a member of staff. Should you have any problems on the day regarding mings, please do let us know and we will do our best to accommodate. A quick reminder also that we will be holding our New School Launch evening on 25th November at 7pm. We would love for you to join us to hear a lile more about the new school which will be starng imminently. Best wishes. Kathryn Krynicki Headteacher School Newsletter

Good morning and welcome back to the second half of our Autumn term. I hope you all had an enjoyable half term and no doubt are attending firework celebrations which con-tinue this weekend.

This week I have not only had the privilege of visiting all the classes in the school to ob-serve pupils and teachers, but have also indulged in some teaching myself. It was very reassuring to see the children enjoying learning experiences and to be so engaged with learning. It was also pleasing to see the progress that children have made in such a short time. You will be aware that we were benchmarking assessment levels of all pupils just before the half term and have discussed them as a staff team. We will report back to you as parents next week at the consultation meetings. Teachers will be reporting age stand-ardised scores which will add some context around where your child sits nationally against match aged pupils.

Governors met this week to review pupil data outcomes from last year which we were delighted with. We have now been graded as significantly above national for all subjects at both Key stage 1 and 2, so a huge well done to all the staff in the school who are so committed to the children and to providing the very best possible outcomes. As well as discussing pupil outcomes, governors looked at all aspects of the school which involve pupils.

On Monday, the school met with the financial auditors of the school. Again this was a very positive meeting which reflects the good financial management of the school. However we are still left with the challenges of decreasing funds and higher ex-pectations from central government which puts enormous pressure on us to deliver such a breadth of curriculum and extended school opportunities.

Today is the highlight of the week for the children - the Cake Bake. My thanks in advance to everyone who has supported this event which the children love. I know myself the pressure of whipping up some cakes after a busy day at work!

It’s a busy week for the school next week. In fact, I have just looked at my diary and seen a full week of appointments followed by meetings or events every evening. One of these evenings is the later parents meeting on Thursday. We are also holding meetings on Tuesday. You should all now have either booked an appointment or, if not, you will be contacted by a member of staff. Should you have any problems on the day regarding timings, please do let us know and we will do our best to accommodate.

A quick reminder also that we will be holding our New School Launch evening on 25th November at 7pm. We would love for you to join us to hear a little more about the new school which will be starting imminently.

Best wishes.

You will be aware that

children in KS2 are able to

bring in a healthy snack

for break time (children in

KS1 are provided with a

piece of fruit). We are aware that a lot of the

children get very hungry so from next week

we are allowing them to bring a more sub-

stantial snack. This must still be healthy so no

high sugar or high fat foods will be allowed,

eg crisps, chocolate and sweets. The healthier

cereal / granola bars or a small sandwich will

be allowed. Please remember that we have a

No Nuts policy.

As many of our chil-

dren will be going to

bonfire and fire-

works displays this

weekend, they have

been thinking about

how to keep them-

selves safe.

Also do you have access to a Father Christ-mas costume? We have one costume but it would be good to have two or three so we don't have to close the grotto for Father Christmas changeover.

Please can you email [email protected] (Hazel Class).

Thank you very much.

If your child attends football club on the

school field, please encourage them to

knock the mud off their boots as they

leave the field, as too much on the play-

ground makes it very slippery.

STOP PRESS!!

Thank you to all those of you who have already sent in

your Christmas Card or other Celebration Card design. We

obviously have lots of budding artists in our midst!

If you missed the original deadline and would still like to

send in a design and order some cards, we have managed

to get an extension to next Wednesday, 11th.

If you have lost your order form you can pick up a replace-

ment from the school office. If you have a sibling who is

not at the school but would like to take part, they are more

than welcome.

Please return your designs, along with a completed order

form and payment to your class teacher by Wednesday.
