• Torecogniseschoolsthatarecommittedtopromotinganddevelopingmountainbikingwithintheschoolcommunity;and

• Tosupportschoolsthatdelivercomprehensivemountainbikingprogramsandactivities.

ELIGIBILITY

TobeeligibletoapplyforrecognitionasaMountainBikeAustraliaSchoolofExcellencethefollowingcriteriaapplies.Schoolsmust:

• JoinandmaintainMountainBikeAustraliaSchoolAffiliation.• UseaMountainBikeAustraliaLevel0qualifiedskillscoachtodeliverbasicskillssessions.• UseaMountainBikeAustraliaLevel1coachfor"trainingsessions"thatinvolvefitnesstraining

andprograms.• Havemountainbikingprogramsembeddedintotheschoolcurriculumandconductaminimum

of16sessionsperyear.• Have successfully run mountain bike skill sessions for a minimum period of 12 months

previously.• EncouragestudentstojoinMountainBikeAustraliaandparticipateinthelocalclubactivities.• Conductaninterschoolmountainbikerace/eventat leastonceayearwithat leasttwoother

schoolsparticipating.• Nominate student(s) to participate in the annual Mountain Bike Australia Schools National

Championships.• Implement a Mentor/Leadership program where a selected senior student completes the

MountainBikeAustraliaLevel0SkillsInstructorcourseandmentorsotherstudents.
