District and Community Community Unit School District 200 (CUSD 200) is a public, K-12 District located approximately 30 miles west of Chicago. The District is located in DuPage County and primarily serves the communies of Wheaton and Warrenville, as well as porons of Carol Stream, Winfield, West Chicago, and adjacent unincorporated areas. CUSD 200 is mostly a middle and upper middle class residenal suburban area where residents are largely profes- sional, semiprofessional, managerial, and skilled workers. CUSD 200 has thirteen K-5 elementary schools, four middle schools (grade 6 to 8), two comprehensive high schools, and a pre-school center. CUSD 200 serves more than 13,400 students and employs approximately 1,000 cerfied employees and 800 support staff. Wheaton Warrenville South High School Wheaton Warrenville South High School’s lineage can be traced back to Wheaton High School, which opened in 1876. Since then, the school name and locaon have changed mulple mes. In 1992, the school relocated to its current address and became known as Wheaton Warrenville South High School and is one of two high schools in CUSD 200. Wheaton Warrenville South offers a four-year (9-12) comprehensive, secondary educaon to approxi- mately 2,300 students. The school year is divided into two semesters, with three, six-week progress reporng periods per semester. Wheaton Warrenville South emphasizes academic excellence, values co-curricular and extracurricular involvement, and receives tremendous support from its parents and community. Wheaton Warrenville South is fully accredited by the Illinois State Board of Educaon and is a member of both NACAC and IACAC. Wheaton Warrenville South consistently ranks as one of the top fiſty public high schools in Illinois by The Chicago Sun-Times. Wheaton Warrenville South is ranked as one of the top high schools in Illinois by Chicago Magazine, and is a Silver Medal winner from U.S. News and World Report. Wheaton Warrenville South has consistently ranked in the top 5% in overall PSAE and ACT scores in Illinois. Finally, based on student’s Advanced Placement (AP) involvement at Wheaton Warrenville South and Wheaton North High Schools, CUSD 200 has been designated an AP Achievement District. This designaon is shared with only 12 other districts in Illinois and 367 naonwide. Technology Center of DuPage (TCD)Technology Center of DuPage is a Career Technical Education (CTE) campus for 24 high schools in DuPage County, IL. TCD offers a roster of intermedi-ate-level elective career programs for juniors and seniors. Students enroll in one program at TCD and spend that year in hands-on occupational skill development, workplace skill development, and academic application. Student Opportunities• Wheaton Warrenville South offers a comprehensive interscholastic

athletic program consisting of 26 sports for both boys and girls with multiple levels of competition. The Wheaton Warrenville South Tigers are members of the DuPage Valley Conference (DVC), which has a rich tradition of success at the regional, sectional, and state levels.

• Along with athletic programs, Wheaton Warrenville South has strong and active participation in Math, Scholastic Bowl, and Speech Teams. Overall, WWS has earned 24 IHSA team state championships and many more individual state champion honors.

• Wheaton Warrenville South offers approximately 45 clubs and orga-nizations for student participation each year. The most popular clubs/organizations include Student Council, Key Club, and Yearbook. More than 1400 students actively participate each year in clubs.

• The curricular music program at Wheaton Warrenville South includes Concert and Symphonic Band; Wind Ensemble; Percussion Studies; Concert and Chamber Orchestra; Sinfonia; Junior Varsity Women’s, Men’s, and Varsity Women’s Chorale; and Concert and Chamber Choir. Numerous extracurricular music activities are also available to interested students, including Marching Band, Jazz Band, and the 2011 & 2012 Fame National Champion Show Choir, The Classics. Wheaton Warrenville South features many theater productions including a Nov-ice Play, Fall Play, and Spring Musical.
