BUSINESS-MANAGEMENT

STEELFABRICATION = STEEL + ADDED VALUE (hours and surface treatment)

Business – plan (5 -10 years) process-investments, forecasted hours & tons

Master-schedule (0,5 – 2 years) contracts versus forecasted hours

Production – plan (1 - 4 weeks) contracts/lots versus fabricationprocess

Worksheets (weekly) planned daily work in the workshop

Progress (daily) realized daily work in the workshop

Bill Of Materials•Easy input. Geometry-definition automatically from BIM/CAD/DSTV or manual entry

•Automated allocation and routing around the workshop according to the individual

fabrication-facilities.

Geometry-identification (What): (contour, hole, length, ….)

Fabrication-method (How): (drill, cut, paint, saw,….)

Cost centers (Where): (CNC-saw-drill-line, cutting-table, welders, painters,..)

Fabrication-routing: the routing of the parts around the workshop.

SP Manager: Fabrication allocation & routing

www.scia-online.com

What - ConditionsBy parametrisation of the cost centers based on our experience and the experience of the steel-fabricator AUTOMATICALLY the fabrication-method is calculated for each part and assembly.

SP Manager: Fabrication automatic allocation

www.scia-online.com

Each cost center (where) has a formula to calculate fabrication time

depending on :

•Geometry of a part (length, width, contour,…)•Operations on a part (drill, cut, saw,….)•Quantities of a part (number, weight, surface,…)

After the definition of the fabrication-method, for each part (or assembly) per cost center a

fabrication-time is calculated.

SCIA: Estimated fabrication-time

www.scia-online.com

Project-planning : JIT (just-in-time)According the routing and the end date and earliest startdate of a project (order or phase) the planning is calculated according the available capacity and respecting the end date. This results in a detailed schedule of each cos tcenter of the workshop.

Capacity-planning per cost center (where) : OptimumFrom a certain start-date a project or phase will be planned regarding the available capacity for that cost center

Stock Trade-lengths to purchase Roll-lengths to purchase Purchase-to-order

Stock and purchase data are fully integrated with ERP of stockholder or steelworker

Cost control per order

Quality-control : full traceability of each fabricated part and stock-piece

Reservation per order and per machine

SP Manager: Material Requirement Planning (MRP)

Out of the BOM an optimal material requirement is calculated:

www.scia-online.com

The following attributes are kept : Planned delivery

Delivery

Planned fabrication

Purchase-value

Purchase-number

Supplier

Certificate

Surface-treatment

Allocated machine

Reserved order

Nested order(s)

Rest-piece

Waste-piece

….

Per cost center (WHERE) :

PROGRESS : The status will be kept per cost center per part. This gives you track of how far the project (order) or phase of the project (order) is.

COST : The realised times per cost center per part are returned. This gives you a good efficiency-rate per cost center.

EFFICIENCY :This efficiency-rate can correct the formulas of the estimation of fabrication-time per cost center.

SP Manager: Fabrication-control

WIP : Work – IN - Process

Material : once taken into the workshop, it becomes a cost for the

contract / etapa

Labour : on weekly basis we know exactly the realized hours

Progress : for every operation we

know exactly what is done per part/assembly

WIP : can be a formula based on the value of the material, the progress

and the hours, multiplied by the sales-value

Why SCIA ?

• SCIA improves the process-efficiency and not only registers LEAN : eliminate no-adding-value-tasks within the process (up to 50% of your process is not adding value )• SCIA optimizes your bottlenecks• SCIA automates beyond CNC• SCIA really makes you plan professionally and productive MRP II – JIT – OPTIMUM MASTERPLAN & PRODUCTIONPLAN & WORKORDERS• SCIA generates quality

www.scia-online.com

WHY SCIA ?

1. Only 2 integrated management-softwares : technical (SCIA) & financial

(ERP)

2. Minimize the effort to have maximum information (never the same or similar

data-entry in all different excel-sheets)

3. More accurate information on planning and progress

4. Optimal use of the resources within the process

5. Automated purchase- & stock-management

6. CAM : integrated with all CNC-machines

7. Online MIS (Management Information System) on progress, cost,

efficiency and productivity

8. Integrated QM (Quality Management) for material, assemblies and

weldings

9. Automated full traceability

10. Faster and on-time to supply your customer

www.scia-online.com

Sales-process

1. Open the door (direction or project manager or

fabrication manager)

2. Check the fit of their company with our solution

(questions)

3. Presentation of our solution (ppt)

4. Find out the interest and budget

5. Sell consulting (6000 Euro + travel expenses)

6. Proposal

7. Sell solution

www.scia-online.com

Target-market

1. > 500 tons/month

2. Detailing-software (CAD)

3. > 3 CNC-machines

4. No integrated fabrication-software or not

satisfied with ERP

Questions

1. Monthly output in tons

2. # employees (workers, office, erection)

3. Detailing-software (CAD) ? # licences

4. CNC-machines ? (Brand & type)

5. ERP ? (Brand)

6. Warehouse ?

7. Average stock-level in tons ?
