DIRECTIONS: From the 2 freeway, exit Mountain and head west (down the hill) to Verdugo. Right (north) on Verdugo. At thesplit in the road veer left on Canada. Park entrance will be approximately 0.2 miles after road splits. FREE parking isavailableinside the park at the south end OR directly across from the park on Canada. Please DO NOT park in the residentialneighborhoodnorth of the park!
THE COURSE: Race takes place in a beautiful urban park shaded by trees. Start/finish will be on east lawn. Course is a mix of
pavement, dirt and grass. The championship course is mostly flat with a challenging downhill U-turn then run up, twisting
through mulch, a fast approach stairs section, fast approach double barriers, and through the infamous Tot Park SandTrap! Eachlap is approx. 3.0km in length. Races are timed circuits on the course based on race category.
THE VENUE: Verdugo Park is one of the crown jewels in the City of Glendale park system. Though it is in the middleof aresidential neighborhood it features ample grass, mature shade trees, a sparkling creek, great picnic areas, and askate park!REGISTRATION: Online registration is available and is also your last chance to purchase a Series discount 10-race pass at:www.socalcross.org/register Online registration closes Friday November 25th at 11:59PM (Pacific).Race Day registration opens 2 hours prior to race category start and closes 20 minutes prior to race category start.
LICENSE: This is a USA Cycling sanctioned event. A valid annual USA Cycling license is required for all race
participants. Licenses can be purchased online at: www.USACycling.org or at registration on race day. An
annual USAC license cost $60 ($30 for Juniors) and expire on 12/31/2011. A 2012 license can be purchasedstarting 12/1/2011. A USAC One Day license $10 can be purchased on race day and used for Non-
Championship races only.
State championships are open to anyone holding a current annual USA Cycling license
including Juniors. Licenses can be purchased online at: www.USACycing.org or on
race day with proof of category status. Only those that reside in the SCNCA (Southern
California/Nevada) region and are either citizens or permanent residents can win the title. Out of district
riders can compete for race day prizes. Riders who, at any time in the current year have been members of
Mens UCI Pro Teams and Professional Continental Teams may not enter these races.
ENTRY FEES: *$5.00 2nd race pricing applies after HIGHER entry fee is paid except Juniors race.

RULES: Event held under USA Cycling Permit. All 2011 USA Cycling and CX rules apply. Event held rain or shine, no refunds.
Cyclocross and Mountain bikes (no bar ends) are best. Bike and wheel changes are allowed in the designated pit areas. Riders must
wear helmets when on the bike at all times. Riders shall stay on the course or existing trails. Please respect the venue and residents.
No feeds allowed on course except under discretion of the race officials. Sleeveless jersey/shirts are NOT allowed in USAC events.
Warming up on the Course Once the last rider has crossed the line in the current active wave, the officials will allow riders to
pre-ride the course so they can become familiar with route. Please enter the course just past the finish line and do not pass or
enter in front of riders who are still racing on the course. As in the past, while pre-riding do not cross the finish line while the
timing system is running and do not pass active racers on course. There will always be enough time to complete one lap before the
next race starts. Once the next race has started, warming up on the course is not allowed.
CATEGORIES: Senior (over 18 years of age in 2012) and Masters categories may be listed by ability as well as age. Ability
categories are as follows. The Prestige Series discourages sandbagging.
A USAC Road/CX Cat 1 and 2, MTB Cat 1/Expert and anyone else who chooses to race at this level.
B USAC Road/CX Cat 3 and 4, MTB Cat 2/Sport and anyone who chooses to race at this level.
C USAC Road 4 and 5, CX 4, MTB Cat 3/Beginner. New racers or those trying cyclocross for the first time.
CYCLOCROSS RACING AGE: A riders racing age for the 2011-12 Cyclocross Season is the 'racing age' theyll be the year of theUCI CX World Championships which take place in January 28-29, 2012. Your racing age for the entire cyclocross season
running September 2011 through January 2012 is your age as of 12/31/2012.
RESULTS: Race results will be posted near the awards area immediately following each race. Please make sure to check your
results within the 15-minute posting/protest period or they will be final. Online results at: www.SoCalCross.org
