  • From The Wilderness to Destiny: By Pastor Joe

The young generation that was part of the exodus from Egypt is a symbolic representation of todays young

generation. Like the young people trapped in the wilderness, between apathy and the promise of God, young

people today are also surrounded by unbelief, loss vision and no purpose in the mist of great opportunities. The

wilderness was a contaminated environment created by the leaders, overseers and parents. Those that should

have been a light and guide had fallen prey to discouragement, seduced to give up because of giants, big things

that presented themselves as obstacles. This stagnated attitude had the potential to be transferred to the

younger generation, robbing them of their destiny. However God raised up two men, Caleb and Joshua who did

not give up on the promises of God, imparted their faith to the younger generation and lead them into the place

God promise they would own. The Millennias (ages between 18 29) face challenges and issues that would like

to see them fail to reach their potential. We must continue to believe Gods Word, let us like Caleb and Joshua

refuse to give up on God, and allow Him to used us to transfer this faith to the younger generation and escort

them from the wilderness to their destiny, for they are the Next Church.

  • Identity By Way of Assignment

    By Pastor Joe

There is an Identity Crisis among

    our young people today. The

    younger generation have a strong

    sense of independence, slow to

    adapt to traditions of their

parents, while not being sure who

they are or what they want. This

    younger generation resides in a

    constant self-discovery mode.

They are searching to find the

meaning of life and whats in it for

    them. This uncertainty makes

them prime candidates to fall prey

    to negative and destructive

    influences. 2 Timothy provides a

    perfect illustration of a non-

    purposeful live influenced by

    negative forces.

You must understand that in the

last days there will come times of

    much trouble. People will love

    themselves and money. They will

have pride and tell of all the things

they have done. They will speak

    against God. Children and young

people will not obey their parents.

People will not be thankful and

they will not be holy. They will not

love each other. No one can get

along with them. They will tell lies

about others. They will not be able

to keep from doing things they

know they should not do. They will

be wild and want to beat and hurt

those who are good. They will not

stay true to their friends. They will

    act without thinking. They will

    think too much of themselves.

They will love fun instead of loving

God. They will do things to make it

look as if they are Christians. But

they will not receive the power

that is for a Christian. Keep away

from such people. 2 Timothy 3:1-

    6 (NLV)

    In addition to establishing a

relationship with Christ, one of the

ways to help young people deal

with identity Crisis is to help

    them discover what they have

been assigned in life to do. God

    endowed each individual with the

ability to believe (to have faith)

Romans 12:3. God also placed in

each of us gifts and callings

    Romans 11:29. Gifts and callings

equip us with the ability to carry

    out an assigned task, an

    assignment. Your assignment is

    divinely determined by God, once

tapped into, has in its DNA, the

    ability to provide: purpose,

    direction, deliverance, provision

and identity. Our prayer is for God

Helping young people discover themselves by embracing

their God given gifts and callings.

to supply us the wisdom and

    strategies to help young people

connect with what they have been

    assigned to do .

    This connection can be achieved

    several ways. First and foremost

    the agenda of our outreach

    programs, that target young

people, must be to help them

    recognize and become engaged

    with their assignment.

    Secondly, we must give young

    people opportunities (those that

    teach responsibility and

    accountability) to begin to exercise

    their gifts and talents.

A fish out of water is dysfunction-

al, not capable of fulfilling its

    assignment, however when placed

into water their genius is released.

Lets help young people unite with

    their assignments, which will

    reveal their true identity.

  • The Bible states but where sin

    increased, grace multiplied all the

    more Romans 5:20 (NET). This

alerts the believer to the fact that in

God there is always hope for

tomorrow. This applies to the status

of todays young people. In the mist

of what seems to be a lost cause

there remains a remnant of young

people that are committed to God

and to the assignments that he has

placed within them. This truth is

displayed in the life of Rodrick

Lawson. The son of Reginald and

Marie Lawson, a graduate of the

    University of South Florida, major-

ing in English. In 2013 Rodrick and

Dena Daniel a law school graduate,

founded Blessed 2 Be A Blessing.

Blessed 2 Be A Blessing, is made up

of over 30 young people who feed

    the homeless. Rodrick mentioned I

want to do it full time and include

    healthcare and education initia-

    tives. Rodricks favorite quote, that

of Marianne William, is the anthem

our his life, Our deepest fear is not

that we are inadequate. Our deep-

est fear is that we are powerful

beyond measure. It is our light, not

our darkness that most frightens us.

We ask ourselves, 'Who am I to be

    brilliant, gorgeous, talented,

fabulous?' Actually, who are you not

to be? You are a child of God...

Rodrick Lawson is proof positive that

    there is hope for tomorrow.
