This brochure showcases an opportunity for you to advertise your company under the Scunthorpe Scorpions Speedway club brand for the 2020 season.

The Scorpions will be competing in the SGB Championship league in 2020, which consists of 12 teams racing across the UK. We are proud to have staged speedway in Lincolnshire since the 1970’s, with our home now being at the Eddie Wright Raceway.

We have a young and exciting team for the new speedway season and have ambitions to bring silver wear back to Scunthorpe.

Speedway first took place in Scunthorpe on May 3rd 1971. Despite a host of problems ran continuously, albeit at two locations, Quibell Park and Ashby Ville, until May 13th 1985. Then on 27th March 2005 league racing returned to the town on what is now known as the Eddie Wright Raceway.

Scunthorpe born racer and triple world speedway champion Tai Woffinden made history by becoming the first British Speedway rider to win three world titles.

With the Scunthorpe Scorpions in 2006 he completed a clean sweep of Conference League trophies, winning the Championship, Conference Trophy, Conference Shield and the Knockout Cup.

We have opportunities for you to advertise around the stadium, 8 x 4 or 8 x 2 advertising board is very popular.

The initial cost is £400 plus VAT for us to supply the board all you need to do is supply us with your art work and we will take care of the rest.

Once up it will then be £300 plus VAT per annum if you wish to keep it up.

Mini track training/experience days

Fancy having a go yourself or treating someone to the experience of riding a speedway bike then why not try our mini track training days.

The 92 metre mini track has been purpose built within the main stadium in the summer of 2007 and has proven to be very popular. Its size makes it ideal for the smaller bike (125-1500 cc) it’s a great way to get the feel of riding and sliding a speedway bike.

Wayne Carter training sessions

Wayne is a former rider and was the Captain of the scorpions in the early days he now runs regular afternoon training sessions (12-4.00 pm) the sessions which are suitable for riders of all abilities whether you’ve done it before or just a novice are run at weekends and all dates can be found on our website www.scunthorpespeedway.co

We do have bikes you can hire (125cc-150cc) or you can use your own machinery if you have it.

Prices for the sessions

£70 which includes tuition, bike use and equipment hire (helmet boots and clothing)
