In SD, Radiologic Technologists are not recognized as medical

professionals…this affects patient care, quality standards, and even

hospital reimbursement rates

What does this mean?

We are fighting for state licensure --- CARE bill, RT in D.C.

Digital Imaging Post-Processing

Technologists were illegally cropping images – L-spine Routine

*CT legal case. Scout was not sent through to PACS. Pathology

not seen in slices, but seen in scout.

Digital Imaging Cropping or Masking

Ex. Chest X-ray with cones wide open. Bone lesion cropped out after

exposure. Patient died. They looked at original image…Technologist

was sued, fired, and lost their house.
