For our 6th cruise with the Vienna Philharmonic, we at MS6 Travel & Music have chosen the

Mein Schiff 6. A decision for your well-being on board. For this is particularly close to our hearts; in addition

to the musical masterpieces, to create the appropriate space and framework to let the experience reverberate,

so that the rhythm reaches the soul.

Music, its sound is best experienced when one remains silent about it. Said by W.A. Mozart:

"The music is not in the notes. But in the silence in between."

In this sense, the Springer family and team of MS6 Travel & Music wishes you a melodious journey

with quiet moments now and then.

The time has come again; under the motto "Sea and Music", another cruise will take place in September 2020, enabling passengers from all over the world to meet the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra in a unique way. For years now, this trip has

delighted an audience that appreciates the once in a lifetime synthesis of nature and culture and the special atmosphere on board. Due to the strong response of music lovers from all over the world, it is always a great pleasure for our orchestra to embark on this journey together and to present an exquisite programme on board and in major concert halls ashore. You can expect numerous surprises which will inspire you as a music lover. This also includes rehearsal visits and performances

by individual ensembles of our musicians.

The programme selection of the concerts will focus on the great composer Ludwig van Beethoven, whose 250th birthday will be celebrated in 2020. Under the direction of Maestro Herbert Blomstedt, some of the most important works by the

master of Viennese classical music will be performed. Pianist Yefim Bronfman can be heard on the piano. We have a close artistic partnership with both artists.

We are particularly pleased to be able to musically shape this cruise together with them.

We wish all participants of this journey, characterised by music, unforgettable days on board and ashore!

Prof. Daniel Froschauer, Chairman of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra

The beautiful thing about art in general and classical music in particular is that it cannot be grasped and nailed down. Movement is its characteristic. A few months before the start of the journey, musical programme items and performance venues may still

change in this respect. We ask you to take this into consideration in the sense of artistic freedom.

* Negotiations with the Odeon of Herod Atticus are in progress. Ancient sites are subject to special bureaucratic and organisational regulations, not to mention the weather-dependency of an open-air stage.

PALMA DE MALLORCASunday, 20.09. | Latest embarkation 19:00

22:00 | Anchors Aweigh! The palm-lined harbour promenade leads through narrow alleyways, past oriental buildings and inviting tapas bars to the city's landmark; the imposing Gothic cathedral La Seu. For a beautiful view of the bay of Palma, the 14th century

castle towers high above the harbour; unique in its circular construction.

1ST DAY AT SEAMonday, 21.09.

Your Sea & Music programme today is with Erwin Schrott and Aleksey Igudesman.

NAPLESTuesday, 22.09. | 08:30-22:30

Naples is, as Elena Ferrante's novels describe it perfectly, a city of contrasts; the raw working-class district of Rione Luzzatti and the fight against the Camorra meet the beau-

tiful villa district on Posillipo Hill, the elegant city centre around Piazza di Martiri and the picturesque old town. The

latter has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1995. No less steeped in history is the Teatro di San Carlo, where you will attend your first concert on land. Andreas Schager

and Lidia Baich are on stage exclusively for you.

PALERMOWednesday, 23.09. | 09:30-19:00

Palermo was controlled by Arabs, Spaniards, Normans and French for a long time. That is why the city is also an inspiring mix of cultures, flavours and arts. It had a great

effect on Goethe. Richard Wagner composed Parsifal here and Pina Bausch's piece Palermo, as the title would

suggest, was also, in large part, composed in Palermo. The Teatro Massimo is therefore a worthy place to enjoy the

new production of Così fan tutte.

VALLETTAThursday, 24.09. | 11:00-21:00

For many, Valletta is one of the most beautiful capitals in Europe. Situated on a headland, the historic fortress town

with its impressive Grand Harbour enchants with its narrow streets, cosy terrace cafés and baroque architecture.

The Vienna Philharmonic will play the first concert during this journey under the baton of Herbert Blomstedt.

2ND DAY AT SEA Friday, 25.09.

Time for relaxation and shared musical experiences with chamber music, rehearsals, Meet & Greet.

SANTORINI / THIRA (TENDER PORT)Saturday, 26.09. | 07:00-19:00

The small Cycladic Island enchants with its impressive play of colours. Rock-built dwellings in brilliant white blue, beaches with black gravel or red rocky sand beneath and

above all the sulphur vapours from the still active volcano. You will reach Santorini by tender boat.

PIRAEUS / ATHENSSunday, 27.09. | 05:30 - Monday, 28.09. | 14:00The city of Piraeus with its many taverns along the old

fishing port is often dismissed as a transit point or starting point for exploring the sights of Athens. The city with Greece's largest seaport offers impressive neoclassical

buildings, picturesque bays and a vibrant nightlife.Athens holds a very special spell over many; antiquity and

modernity merge seamlessly here and allow 2,500 years of cultural history to pass you by.

In Athens your second concert by the Vienna Philharmonic under the direction of Herbert Blomstedt awaits you.

HERAKLION (IRAKLIO)Tuesday, 29.09. | 04:00 | Arrival and Bon voyage!

Every step has a significant history, but at the same time it is vibrant today. The Archaeological Museum is one of the most important museums in Europe, the Venetian port with its impressive masonry is a brilliant piece of

architecture and just beyond the city limits lies the glorious Knossos, the most important centre of Minoan culture.

TUI Cruises acts as an intermediary, but organises bike and e-scooter tours. Approximately 4 months before the start of your journey, you are welcome to request the excursion programme specially put together for this Sea & Music trip. We will make a preselection of suitable

excursions for you and arrange them individually taking into account the extensive music programme. Land excursions can then be booked up to a maximum of 10 weeks before departure using the form. The booking of excursion will then be taken over by us or by your booking office.
