A. METAL BOX FOR CONTROL PANEL (optional) From January 2014 all our cranes are available with (as an option) a new metal box for both manual and radio remote control versions. The new box integrates our pedestal control by covering the control panel area. The box offers improved protection of the control panel components against water.

Manual version: The user must open the box front door to reach the cranes control levers. Radio version: When using the radio the operator does not need to open the box. This means greater protection for the control valve's electric components. The safety devices like the emergency stop button, the warning light column and the pressure gauge are outside the box so as to be always visible and easy to reach.


B. DOUBLE LINE HOSES AND FITTINGS SUPPORT (optional) For a more customized installation, we can provide our cranes with 2 meters double lines hoses with a support for bulkhead fittings. This will allow the installer to easy adjust the hoses length. Our cranes are delivered standard with 3 meter long hoses connecting the crane to the control panel. On request today, we can provide a new hoses configuration which has a “double line” hose system instead of the standard “single line”. For each hydraulic line we have two hoses connected by bulkhead fittings. All the fittings are pooled together at a dedicated support (see the red square in the image beside). The advantages of this configuration are that it allows a more compact installation and, in case of need, permits easy and less expensive length adjustment.

D. NEW ZINC EPOXY PRIMER BY HEMPEL On our Sealand cranes with L1, L2 or L3 marine treatments we apply two layers of zinc primer. This treatment has two main functions: prevent corrosion and rust and help the paint to stick on the crane’s surface. Because of the primer’s importance we have chosen a world class supplier: Hemple. Hemple is a longstanding and well-known brand in the marine world for its high standard products.

New Hempel primer:

• 2nd Layer: Hempadur mastic 45889

E.TENIFER QPQ TREATMENTS FOR ARTICULATION PINS All the cranes’ articulations pins receive a carbonitriding treatment with Tenifer-QPQ. Carbonitriding treatment: Tenifer-QPQ, average th. 15μm + 0,4mm nitriding depth

F. METALIZING PROCESS (optional) Available as an option on all our cranes, we can provide a supplementary treatment for extra protection against corrosion. This treatment is called “metalizing process” and results in a harder zinc coating, the filling up of the surface holes, and special treatment of internal surfaces.

G.“RESET” FUNCTION LEVER (STANDARD WITH METAL BOX) Available on all our cranes with metal box, we can add a lever on the control panel that, in case of crane blocked by the load limiting device, allows the operator to “restart the crane”

When the load limiting device stops the crane in certain positions, like with the booms in a vertical position, it is hard for the operator to restart operation by simply moving the arms into a safer position. In these cases, by activating the “reset” lever, oil in the main cylinder slowly returns to tank, the crane slowly folds, and it can be restarted.

H. NEW WINCH COUNTERWEIGHTS (TC3-TC5) The flexible and modular hook weight system with integrated snatch block system is designed for single- and two-part-line configurations.

I . NEW SERIGRAPHY DRAWINGS ON CONTROL PANEL On all our crane control panels, the drawings indicating each lever’s functions (see picture below) will be in serigraphy instead of adhesive labels. As our cranes are working in wet conditions, the standard label could detach from the plastic support. The new serigraphy drawings are more resistant to water and wear.

J. NEW WARNING COLUMN FOR WINCH LOAD LIMITING DEVICE Available on all our cranes with winch and load limiting device: the crane includes a LED light column and an acoustic horn signalling to the operator when the crane is in an overload situation.

The column has three colours:

- Green indicating that the crane is on. - Yellow (+ intermittent horn) indicating that the winch reached 90% of

its nominal lifting capacity - Red (+ continuous horn) indicating that the winch reached 100% of its

nominal lifting capacity.

The LED column is waterproof to resist marine environments.

K. NEW DEDICATED WEBSITE Our new website www.amcovebamarine.com completely dedicated to our Sealand cranes division is now online. There you can find our entire crane series, product data, all our technical features and more about our company & products. Furthermore we provide to all our dealers a personal account which permits access to a restricted area containing an extensive document database. Using the restricted area our dealers can track their orders and purchase spare parts online.

L. TOP SEATS RANGE (optional) Starting from the 6 tm cranes, top seat controls are available as an option (except VR75). This type of control station is requested in many fixed installations because it improves the operator's view of crane operations.

The top seat is attached to the crane column at the height of the first articulation. The top seat includes the control panel (control valve + lever), the operator seat, and a ladder.
