Dimensions and tolerances
The dimensions of tubes are given in tables 9–14. The tubes are pro-duced as cold drawn and they are delivered mainly with the toleranceon wall thickness –0 +20 %. The tubes with average wall thicknesscould be delivered upon agreement.
Lengths
Tubes are supplied either in random or fixed lengths, max. length is15,5 m.
Steel grades
See table of standards.
Final supply conditions and surface condition
After the final cold drawing the tubes are heat treated in gas. Tubesurface is free of scale.
Tube ends
Tubes are delivered with plain and debured ends. On request theycould be protected with plastic caps.
Testing
Each tube is nondestructive tested by eddy current test and after cus-tomer specification ultrasonic or hydrostatic test could be used. Othertests are made according to relevant standards.
Marking
Tubemarking with Ink Jet system. Bundles are marked with one or moremetal tags with required information.
Protective coating
Outer and inner surface are usually protected with a light film of oil.Tubes destinated to finning operations are usually oiled on the outersurface only, that allow to have a very light film of oil easy to remove.

Designation systems for steels according to EN
EN 10 020 Definition and classification of steel gradesEN 10 027-1 Designation systems for steels. Part 1: Steel names,
principal symbolsEN ECISS 10 Additional symbols for steel namesEN 10 027-2 Part 2: Numerical system
Steel names according to EN 10027 Part 1These are devided into 2 groups:Group 1 – steel names according to purpose of use and mechanicalpropertiesGroup 2 – steel names according to chemical composition. This groupis devided into 4 subgroups
Group 1 (Steels for tube and pipe)S – steels for structural engineeringP – steels for pressure purposesE – engineering steelsL – steels for pipeline
Number is equal to the minimum yield in MPa for the smallest thicknessof product (e.g. S235, P235).
Group 2• non alloy steels = letter C + number (100 multiple of carbon
contents) – e.g. C22, C35, C45• non alloy steels with Mn > 1% and alloy steels with ele-
ments contents < 5%a) number – 100 multiple of carbon contentsb) chemical symbols for the alloying elementsc) numbers which indicate the alloy properties in the sequence of
alloying elements – e.g. 20MnV6, 26Mn5, 42CrMo4• alloy steels with alloying elements > 5%
a) letter Xb) chemical symbols for the alloying elementsc) numbers which indicate the alloy properties in the sequence of
alloying elements – e.g. X2CrNi18, X5CrNiMo18 12• High-speed steels (not for tubes)
a) letters HSb) chemical symbols for the alloying elements e.g. HS 18-1-1-5
EN ECISS IC 10 – additional symbols for short names• for steels• for steel produtsLetters for steel tubes:
G – other characteristics (possibly 1 to 2 figures)H – material for high temperatureL – material for low temperatureM – thermomechanically rolledN – normalizedQ – annealedR – room temperatureT – tubes, pipese.g. P235TR1, P235GH, P275NL1
Numerical system EN 10 027 – 21 – steelxx – 2 numbers for group of steelxx – 2 order numberse.g. 1.0305, 1.7325S 235JRH = 1.0039, S 355JRH = 1.0576
Bezeichnungssysteme für Stähle nach EN
EN 10 020 Begriffsbestimmung für Einteilung der StähleEN 10 027-1 Bezeichnungssysteme für Stähle. Teil 1: Kurznamen,

7.4 Boiler and exchanger tubeswith internal riffling
This type of precision tube is used such as boiler or exchanger tubes.Contrary to the tubes with smooth inside surface, the advantages oftubes with internal riflings include:• optimum turbulence stage inside heat - transfering medium• permanent contact of medium with inside surface tube, whereby the
heat - transfer coefficient is bigger by 40–60 %• braking action of internal riflings against rigid particle sedimenta-
tion in transported medium• a very effective corrosion resistance and a large increase in service
life of the piping
Tubes with internal riflings are furnished according to the given parame-ters. In the table there is a dimensional range. Required parameters area matter of agreement between the manufacturer and the purchaser.
