Multi-Purpose Vessels – Program Overview

MPV project• Part of Canadian Coast Guard Fleet Renewal Program

Announced May 2019

• Canadian Government investment in up to 16 MPVs

⎯ To replace three existing classes of ships ranging in size from 70m to 83m

Goal• Design, build and deliver next-generation class of up to 16 vessels to replace existing:

⎯ High Endurance Multi-Tasked Vessels (HEMTV)

⎯ Medium Endurance Multi Tasked Vessels (MEMTV)

⎯ Offshore Patrol Vessels (OPV) and one Specialty Vessel (SV)
