FEBRUARY IS HEART HEALTH MONTH An important time to rededicate ourselves to fighting this prevalent health issue. Heart disease is especially deadly among African Americans who tend to get heart disease at a younger age, have a higher rate of first-time heart attack at all ages, are more likely to die of heart disease, and are more prone to sudden cardiac death. Choose heart smart foods, emphasizing vegetables, fruits, whole grains, and low fat dairy. Learn your heart disease risk factors, from your primary care physician, and do your best to lower them; including keeping your blood pressure, cholesterol and blood sugar under control.
THE KING CENTER CAMP NOW invites youth, ages 13-18, youth groups and youth organizations to participate in the 5th year of our summer youth camp, Camp NOW.
