The teaching and research activities of SSLMIT include translation and interpreting, language and linguistics, literary and critical studies. Teaching has a practical orientation and it is attentive to the needs of the market. SSLMIT offers a Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Interlinguistic Communication (Comunicazione Interlinguistica Applicata), a Bachelor's Degree in Interlinguistic Communication Applied to Legal Professions (Comunicazione Interlinguistica Applicata alle Professioni Giuridiche), and a Master’s Degree in Specialised Translation and Conference Interpreting (Traduzione Specialistica e Interpretazione di Conferenza) where students can choose between a curriculum in specialised translation (which includes literary translation and liaison interpreting), or a curriculum in conference interpreting (which includes simultaneous and consecutive interpreting). It is on volunteer basis and its members work hard, moved only by the passion for internationality. ESN organizes welcome days, tandem meetings, regular trips in Italy and abroad, and night events in the most popular places in the city. The University Language Centre (Centro Linguistico d’Ateneo), hosted at SSLMIT, organizes language courses for free! All main European languages are available as well as Italian for foreigners.
