117 municipalities and 15 joint municipalities are taking part in the agreement and programme. Due to energy saving measures implemented in 2008–2015, municipal activities are more energy- and cost-efficient and they produce less CO2 emissions.

Energy-intensive industry in Finland is actively improving its energy efficiency. Energy-intensive industry includes all the companies, that have at least one site, where energy consumption exceeds 100 GWh annually.

The voluntary energy efficiency agreement for industries covers nearly all energy-intensive industry in Finland, with 41 companies and their 133 sites.

Due to saving measures implemented in 2008–2015, their business is more energy- and cost-efficient and it produces less CO2 emissions.

& responsible use of energyENERGY SECTOREnergy sector in Finland is extensively taking part in the voluntary Energy Efficiency Agreement for industries.

38 energy companies and their 210 sites (with electricity and/or heat production) are taking part in the agreement. Additionally 94 companies and their 132 sites that provide energy services (delivery of district heat/cooling to end users or electricity transmission, distribution and retail sale) are participating in the agreement.

Due to saving measures implemented in 2008–2015, their business is more energy- and cost-efficient and it produces less CO2 emissions. Companies provide advisory services for their customers that increase end users’ energy awareness and capability to save energy.
