Great to see the Colts continuing along their winning way. Ihope Darcy Spurling and associates will be well recoveredfor this weeks match as I have it from a reliable source it wasa well celebrated 18th Birthday. We offer nothing but our fullsupport and encouragement to our senior sides. So to all ourmembers and supporters lets get behind them with a strongshow of numbers at Norwood this week and Balwyn at homethe following week.Whilst I’m on the bandwagon in regards to support I thinkits imperative for the club to have strong numbers back atthe clubrooms for all home and away games regardless ofthe result because ultimately the strength in any club is inthe numbers. So come back for the awards and join yourfellow falcon followers for a drink. This week is your last chance to purchase your ticket in the$100 raffle. Drawn this Sunday at 12:30 till 3:00pm. Alsothere are still some tables available at our next home gameluncheon at which we hope to see a good number of theColts families which is proudly sponsored by the Falconians.See Garry Skelton for tickets or call him on 0416 086 385.Keep on kicking GoalsGraham ReynoldsPresident

After a slow start to the game we got 2 late goals to finish a couple down
at quarter time. Second quarter was a very poor effort not only did we not
kick a goal we just played undisciplined football. After a rev at half time we
come out and played much better footy. The last quarter was another
poor effort and Scoresby just ran all over us. Bad loss today! Now we
prepare for Norwood.

Great first quarter that saw the boys have great intensity and aggression for
the ball. It shows what we are capable of if we are mentally ready to play.
Unfortunately it all stopped after this but at least we can focus on the
positives of the first quarter and work on playing four quarters not just one.

A terrific game of Colts footy, pressure was at a maximum and kicks were hard
to come by. Bad kicking at goal was the only thing that wasn’t at a premium.
To come to Scoresby and beat the topside and dominate most areas was
very pleasing.

A very even game up to ½ time. In the long break we knew that it was there to be
won by the team who wanted it more. Our 3rd ¼ was our worst for the day letting
them have 11 scoring shots to 4 but to everyone’s credit we got on top early in
the last and started to run and share the football and scored 5 goals to 0.
Hopefully our new game plan will get better each week as we fine tune it, proof is
that one of our wingmen (Matt Fotia kicking 3 goals) running into an open forward
line.

It was always going to be hard game coming up against Montrose. Once again
our body size played a major part in the games outcome. Our smaller players did
everything you could ask of them. The second half was a lot better outscoring
them in the third quarter. Unfortunately with bench full of wounded players we
were unable to run the ball as we did earlier.

COACH’S COMMENTS:
Today we needed to get a good tough win on the board. We just couldn’t do it
relying on the same few players. Boys the season is slipping away and we need to
find a way to get there. To be in front at three quarter time and let it slip away isn’t
good enough. Keep your heads up and work hard on the training track. Special
mention to Sam Boughen our water carrier who week in and week out in there
supplying our boys with water during the game. Thank you Sam.

KNOX BLACKThere will be some work done on theplaying surface in the next week or sofollowing representations to the Shireand local politicians. About 300 squaremetres of turf will be laid around centrehalf forward at the grand-stand end ofthe ground to remove the dangerousundulations causing us some concern.Well done to all those involved inpersisting and getting this result.Garry Skelton tells us that Lucas againlined up with the Hanoi Hawks in theAnnual Anzac Day match and kicked 6odd goals including 2 in the last to pinchthe game from the Saigon Saints. Seemsthe Saints are having a bad run lately.Even over in Indo China.
Heaps of bangers, burgers, bread andsalads have been ordered for the bigdraw Sunday in the rooms. So get yourticket in and come down and enjoy theday. Gotta be in it to win it. Good luck!
Beetlejuice has been doing the roundsand tells us that we are not the onlyones with injury problems. At Mitcham,ex Lilydale player Brad Jenkinsonlooks as though he may have done amedial ligament in this knee and will beout for some time. Sound like afamiliar story? We are looking for assistance aroundthe club on match days. There areseveral jobs that have to be doneincluding the around the ground raffleat half time, the after match raffle in therooms, manning the scoreboard andtimekeeping, interchanges stewards andmanning the bridge selling admittancetickets. If you can help please give callGerry Toohey on 0414 257 276 or LukeEwart on 0401 540 343.The new photographs for the FalconsPlayers and Officials Board are now ondisplay in the rooms. Today we came up against last year’s premiers at home in what was going to be a tough
contest. The boys started brilliantly kicking 6 goals to 1 in the first with Delly setting the tone
tackling their giant ruckman so hard that it finished him for the first half. We continued to play
well in the second to go to the break 40 points up. We still needed to lift our talk which is the one
thing in our game that doesn’t seem to improve. Our third quarter wasn’t the greatest with
Rowville starting to show some resistance. Klep continued to play well across half back while
Toohey worked tirelessly on ball. The last quarter we got it back together with Shane Mansfield
making the most of his chance playing forward kicking 2 goals. Dwyer had his best game for the
year and Mutsaers was terrific at full back. In the end a great win against last year’s premiers.

Disappointing end to a very close game. After a close first term I think we started to win more of the ball in the second term & we went in at halftime a couple of kicks in front. The third quarter was a bit of a scrap & they got in front late, a couple of late shots on goal from them was the difference in the end. We showed some very good signs today linking up well & knowing to receive but unfortunately for us we didn’t do it when it really counted.

What a great day for all the boys! (Including the Coach) It was great that
after all the hard work and some big loses that the boys got to enjoy a win.
Other than a 10 minute period in the second quarter when we got a little
ahead of ourselves and became spectators, we managed to control the rest
of the game. Pete dominated starting in the ruck which allowed us to start
Shaun up forward which gave us a great target going forward. Blake Hughes,
who had been very ill also started forward instead of on the ball and proved
a match winner with 6 goals. Kyle along with Coryn, Saucy and Baxen
controlled the back line, while the on balers led by Bay, Josh Serci and Luke
provided the drive forward. Super effort boys it was great to sing the song
together for the first time for this year. Let’s make sure we keep working hard,
improving and enjoying playing together.

The boys this week were hard at the ball at ground level, but overhead lost nearly
every time as North Ringwood’s smallest boy was close to our tallest. The boys ran in
numbers and when getting the ball turned it over too many times. A good effort and
more training is required. Well done boys.
