Use age-appropriate discipline strategies to shape behavior one-step at a time. 5. Praise Good Behavior Provide positive attention and praise whenever your child demonstrates self-discipline. Point out the good behavior you want to see more often. 6. Teach Problem-Solving Skills Teach problem-solving skills and work together to problem-solve specific issues related to self-discipline. 7. Model Self Control Kids learn best by watching adults. If your child sees you procrastinating or choosing to watch TV instead of doing the dishes, he or she will notice your habits. 8. The Santa Parade begins at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 14 marching south on Division Avenue from 33 rd Street to Murray Street. Immediately following the parade, children can talk with Santa at Brann’s Sizzlin’ Steaks & Sports Grille. Parents, be sure to bring your camera for this great photo opportunity!

ELL AFTER SCHOOL TUTORING PROGRAM

Our ELL After-School Tutoring Program for our English Language Learner students is held every Tuesday and

Thursday from 3:30 PM until 4:30 PM. It begins on Tuesday, December 3, 2019 and continues until Thursday, March 26, 2020. Transportation for this program is available to resident

student families. Parents who choose to pick up their students after the program should wait outside. The program teaching staff will walk to the students outside at dismissal.

under mentor teacher Jen Meyers in 5th grade this semester.
