Straight Angle Horizontal angle

The valve bodies with pressfit connection areused for heating systems with stainless steel orcopper pipes. The fitting require a commercialcompression tool. List of available tools is foundon page 3.

The valve bodies are physically and technicallyidentical to RA-N, DN15 standard valves. All RA2000 thermostatic sensors, as well as the newRAX design series, may be used as desired.

The RA-N valve bodies with integrated presettingare used in two-pipe pumped heating systems.Flow is adjustable in the range 0.04 - 0.73 m³/h.

RA-N valve bodies are supplied with a redprotective cap which can be used for manualregulation during the construction phase.

The protective cap must not be used as a manualshut off device. A special manual shut off device(code no. 013G5000) should be used.

Technical data are according to Euronorm EN215.

The valve bodies are equipped with a self sealingtailpiece featuring an O-ring seal.

Valve bodies are manufactured from DZR brasswith nickel plating. The pressure pin of the glandseal is of chrominium steel and works in a lifetimelubricated O-ring. The complete gland seal canbe replaced without draining down the system.

Should water treatment be used it is essentialthat dosing instructions of the manufacturer arestrictly observed. It is recommended thatformulations containing mineral oil are avoided.

1) The kv-value indicates the water flow (Q) in m³/h at a pressure drop (∆p) across the valve of 1 bar;

. The kvs-value states the flow Q at a maximum lift, i.e. at fully open valve at setting N. At setting

N the kv-value is stated according to EN 215, at Xp = 2K i.e. the valve is closed at 2 °C higher roomtemperature. At lower settings the Xp-value is reduced to 0.5 K of the setting value 1

Approvals Danfoss RA-N pressfit valves are tested andapproved according to EN 215.

Pipes compatible with Danfoss pressfit valves areaccording to EN 10312 (welded stainless steelpipes ), EN 10305-3 (Thin-walled carbon steelpipes), EN 1057 (seemless copper pipes) with aminimum wall thickness of 1 mm.

The O-rings used in the Danfoss pressfit valvesbodies are according to EN 681.

Presetting The calculated setting value can be set easily andaccurately without using special tools:

▪ Remove the protective cap or sensor▪ Raise the setting ring.▪ Turn the scale on the setting ring until the

desired value faces the reference mark, orientated towards the valve outlet

▪ Release the setting ring – factory setting = N

The presetting can be chosen from valuesbetween 1 and 7 with intervals of 0.5. At setting Nthe valve is completely open. A setting in theshaded area must be avoided.

When the sensor is mounted, the presetting ishidden and thus protected against unauthorizedalteration.

Carbon steel pipesTubes in unalloyed steel E195(W.nr.1.0034) andE235(W.nr.1.0308) according to EN10305-2 or EN10305-3 in condition +A or +N.

Copper pipesOuter diametre and wall thickness according toEN 1057, Table 3. Danfoss recommends aminimal wall thickness of 1 mm.Pipe hardness min. R 290, meaning that onlycopper pipes in bars are compatible. No internalreinforcement is required.

CompatibilityThe pressable area of Danfoss Pressfit valves aredesigned to match a range of commercial presstools and jaws as described in the table. For toolsnot mentined please check the with themanufacturer.

Compatible press toolsPress tools and jaws must be used and servicedas described by their manufacturer, and theactual press operation must be inspected.Danfoss require a minimal press force of 30 kN.

The actual pressing must not be interrupted andthe tool should be locked for removal until thepressing has been completed correctly. The testing of the press points is done accordingto the manufactures specs.

Capacity RA-N 15 - capacities in combination with RA 2000 sensor at P band between 0.5 K and 2K

The P band is the change in room temperaturewhich is required to move the valve from closedposition to the position which allows thecalculated flow.
