North Main Athletic Complex

North Main Athletic Complex is an all-sports stadium that offers seating for

1,680, and space for at least an additional 1,200 attendees. The 1,680 seats are not bleachers, but individual seats. The field will also be synthetic turf. Included in the current sports line-up are baseball, youth football and lacrosse.

The primary tenant for the stadium will be the Coastal Plain League (CPL). Over the course of the year, the CPL will be using the stadium about 30% of the time. The Stadium will also offer full concessions with pizza, hot dogs, beer and everything you’d expect to find at a ball park.

There are 14 teams across the Carolinas and Virginia. CPL welcomes over 546,000

fans into its ballparks for the season.

In addition to the CPL, the new facility will host the youth football, youth soccer and youth lacrosse through the Town of Holly Springs.

Other plans for the park include a greenway connection to the other parks an a

traffic light with a crosswalk installed at the entrance of the park on Main Street.

• Spending on sports travel has steadily risen during the past few years and is largely fueled by youth sports. Families collectively spend $192 million per day

supporting their children’s sports activities.

• Studies show that 27% of all trips made in the U.S. relate to attending a

sporting event of some kind, from professional and college games to youth

and amateur sporting events.

• It’s estimated that at least 35 million kids between 5 and 18 currently play an

organized sport each year in the U.S. Of that, 21 million are involved in nonschool youth sports, which have been expanding. The Sports Facilities Advisory Deems Youth Sports and Sports-Related Travel “Recession Resistant”. Youth Sporting Events Create $7 Billion in economic impact.
