STATE TIMES NEWS BANIHAL: National Conference District President Sajjad Shaheen on Wednesday visited various snow bound areas in Banihal Assembly Constituency and expressed grave concern over lack of basic facilities like power and drinking water besides dilapidated road net- work. Shaheen urged the Governor's administration for carrying out restoration of utility services on war foot- ing basis so that the people are provided basic necessities and other essential services on immediate basis. He said the people are already suffer- ing due to intense cold and snowfall and they need some respite at this hour of crisis. Shaheen visited Mahu- Mangit area of Tehsil Khari in the constituency, most of which is snow bound. He interacted with the people and sought firsthand infor- mation about damages caused due to snow and serv- ices impacted during the past few weeks. He said the people of Mahu-Mangit, Khari, Chaknarwa, Chanjlu, Neel, Thachi, Pogal-Paristan, Ramsoo, Bingara, Sarachi, Trigam, Chamalwas, Runigam, Kharwan, Chaka- Sarbagni and other areas were hit the most. He also sought presence of medicos and para-medicos in the health institutions and adequate stocking of medi- cines to cope up with the needs of the people. STATE TIMES NEWS DODA: Kuldeep Kumar Rao, President Thathri Development Front, dis- trict Doda demanded con- stitution of Delimitation Commission and rotation of Reserved Assembly Constituencies besides suitable amendment in the Panchayati Raj Act. He also demanded that there is urgent need of removing ban on the nomination to the office of Chairman Block Development Council that any person wishing to nominate him- self or herself as chairman should either be a Panch or Sarpanch from any ward falling with in any Panchayat of the block. "This amounts to stran- gulation of spirit of democ- racy and democratic insti- tutions", he said and added that the rider should therefore be removed forthwith and any parson who figures in the electoral roll of block should be allowed to nominate him or herself for the office of chairman of Block Development Council, as was before amendment in Panchayati Raj Act, 2016". Rao further said that the people of Jammu province have never got what was their genuine share in the socio-economic and politi- cal processes during all these more than 70 years of the State's accession to India. It is Jammu based leadership that is responsi- ble for the step-motherly treatment being meted out to the people of this province, as also for the prevailing discontent in this region. There is hard- ly any section of society in Jammu region which is happy. Had the Jammu leadership, like its coun- terpart in Kashmir dis- charged its obligations towards this region and played a pro-active role in the State Cabinet, Legislative Assembly and Legislative Council, the story of Jammu province today would have been totally different. Rao further hoped that the awakened voters of J&K State, in the coming Parliamentary and Assembly elections in the State to be held in 2019 will certainly exhibit their political maturity and come out of traditional trap of pseudo secularism and the communalism being propagated by all these traditional political parties and send own self- less and honest represen- tatives in Parliament and Assembly for the imple- mentation of public inter- est laws and for the sur- vival of general public and coming generation. STATE TIMES NEWS UDHAMPUR: Career Point organised a seminar at Happy Model School Udhampur on 'Effective Strategies to clear JEE / NEET exam'. Career Point Senior Vice President Dev Sharma addressed the stu- dents and said that this is very crucial time for stu- dents because the syllabus has been completed in almost all the schools / insti- tutes. The biggest challenge for students is how to revise the entire syllabus in a very effective manner within the time span of two to three months. He said that in one aca- demic session a student has to face about thousands of questions and at the time of revision it is not possible for students to revise all the questions. Therefore a stu- dent has to prepare an effec- tive revision plan to revise the entire syllabus in a very short time. Dev Sharma said first of all one has to analyse himself to identify the remaining syllabus and plan accordingly. For revision techniques, he said always keep in mind that you are revising not reading. Do smart hard work, revise formulae, key points, short notes, try to remember things through flow charts. Don't follow new books for revision, be positive all the time. At the end of the session he encouraged the students to practice more and move ahead to the path of suc- cess.
