Sentry to NodeB Connection

• All four nodeB are located in the TOC under controlled environment where only Sentry will attach to the nodeB.

• All nodeB supports HSPA and uses IP transmission.

• Two SIMS (UNET – mobile profile and MAXISBB – broadband profile) embedded to Sentry.

Sentry Monitoring

• Sentry setup simulates a user using mobile and broadband to connect to internet.

• Test cases that Sentry measures are DNS request time, HTTP request time, WAP request time and maximum download speed.

• Fault or failure in each of these test cases simulates users under the Besi or Kepong network having difficulties to browse internet through mobile or broadband.

• Test cases for WAP request time involves three mobile phone model profile Nokia 7200, Nokia E61, and Nokia N70

Maximum download speed:

• To measure maximum download speed, Sentry will do a FTP download to a Maxis owned FTP server within the network.

• Any abnormalities at Sentry and to verify below test can be carried out directly from nodeB by performing below setup.

• Using E1762 modem and CRC9 user can directly connected to the nodeB as normal user.
